Hug, means thought or soul. In Nordic folklore, the hug was also thought to be able to travel independently of the body. Particularly important was the "evil hug", as it was believed that certain people could influence and harm others through their thinking. This should be able to act as a radiance, often at a long distance, and was in some cases perceived as materialized and personified. Al objekts taken with my Nikon D200

Yes, he has some money in his hands, which he counts, but he is poor, old and sick. No, he's not a bum who lives at the train station. He personifies millions worthy of sympathy and help. The photo was taken on the territory of the food court, where there are many different cafes, but the amount of money in his hands is not enough even for a cup of coffee and a bun.

"Make haste slowly, and without losing heart,
Twenty times on the loom hand over your work,
Polish it endlessly, and polish it again,
Add sometimes, and erase often".
In my case for this station, it's not 20 times but several hundred times.
Contrary to what is often thought, this formula does not refer to Homer's Odyssey, in which Penelope, fidelity personified, refuses to take a husband again despite the interminable absence of her husband Ulysses. And who, to ward off the suitors, gives as an excuse, for years, until the return of Ulysses, the making of a large veil that she must finish before a possible second wedding. But dismantles every night everything she has woven during the day.
This is a quote from the French writer Nicolas Boileau dit Boileau-Despréaux, taken from "L'Art poétique", a didactic poem of eleven hundred classic Alexandrians published in 1674, which, in my opinion, retains all its topicality, nearly three and a half centuries later.
Belonging to the obsolete register, it means: do not hesitate to work and tirelessly rework your project or your text, to refine it, like the artisan weaver, who does not cease to put back, as many times as he will need, his work (i.e. the piece of fabric he is making) on his loom.
What better way to finish off a full day of car stuff than with more car stuff? We decided to go to dinner and do a shoot with a handful of cars following the PVGP events on Saturday.

Hans Weigand (*1954)
Hans Weigand is an Austrian graphic artist and painter. The ALBERTINA is currently presenting him with a selection of his most recent works in the exhibition "Hans Weigand. Rider in the Storm".
"... In his output, Weigand, who lived in Los Angeles from the mid-1990s to the end of the decade, elaborates upon a utopian yet classical visual vocabulary abounding with contrasts and contradictions. Behind the façade of the American West Coast’s casual lifestyle, he especially deals with such sociopolitical themes as the Great Financial Crisis of 2008, having obtained deep insights into the surf punk culture through his fellow artists. Having widely been quoted in many of Weigand’s works, the character of the surfer exemplarily personifies the idea of ambivalence: it symbolizes freedom and a willingness to take risks, as well as daring and downfall.
In Weigand’s oeuvre, not only do contemporary motifs collide with the imagery of old masters. Also, such traditional techniques as the woodcut are realized in an essentially unconventional and contemporary fashion...."

Many masks, but the mask of cerf is the oldest, it dates back to the time of the caves. Priest of the god of flocks, the shaman was probably dressed in deer skin and wore wood during the rite. The same Horned God is found in the pastoral peoples, but then, instead of being the God of the Hunt he became the God of flocks and fertility of these herds.
To the Celts it was Cernunnos, and the Celtic and Anglo-Saxon mythology there is a concept of God deer dancer and band leader, personifying the ritual actions of priests / dancers, and for the Gods.

We,Japanese love Urashima taro story, perhaps you know but i repeat. Taro helped a being bullied turtle on a shore, and a turtle took him to the Dragon Palace. Otohime(Princes) entertained him serving many foods, but Taro suffered homesick. He got a casket as a souvenir. When he reached the shore, he couldn't stop opening the casket. He immediately became an old man.I can say that he was bad that was told not to be open. From here on, I knew it quite recently. Otohime was a Dragon personified, she also turned into a turtle even a casket. Otohime, as she looked old Taro, she felt sorry. She became a turtle, she lamented Taro and all the human race under black moon.UUUm.
Skewer and Last returned to Crystal Palace to rework an alleyway spot in Crystal Palace, presenting a fantastic fun work that completely owns the space with a harmonious collaboration of each artist’s respective styles. The work features an alleyway setting comprising a group of personified ‘alley’ cats tagging in a scene that location wise, could be any major city in the world.

Happy Wall Wednesday!
The cosmology of the worlds which all beings inhabit—nine in total—centers on a cosmological tree, Yggdrasil. The gods inhabit the heavenly realm of Asgard whereas humanity inhabits Midgard, a region in the center of the cosmos. Outside of the gods, humanity, and the jötnar, these Nine Worlds are inhabited by beings, such as elves and dwarfs. Travel between the worlds is frequently recounted in the myths, where the gods and other beings may interact directly with humanity. Numerous creatures live on Yggdrasil, such as the insulting messenger squirrel Ratatoskr and the perching hawk Veðrfölnir. The tree itself has three major roots, and at the base of one of these roots live a trio of Norns.Elements of the cosmos are personified, such as the Sun (Sól, a goddess), the Moon (Máni, a god), and Earth (Jörð, a goddess), as well as units of time, such as day (Dagr, a god) and night (Nótt, a jötunn).

Iris is a genus of 260–300 species of flowering plants with showy flowers. It takes its name from the Greek word for a rainbow, referring to the wide variety of flower colours found among the many species. Wikipedia
Bearded iris is among the most elegant -- and easy to grow -- flowers of spring.
The iris's mythology dates back to Ancient Greece, when the goddess Iris, who personified the rainbow (the Greek word for iris), acted as the link between heaven and earth. It's said that purple irises were planted over the graves of women to summon the goddess Iris to guide them in their journey to heaven.

For eons I have waited, sitting alone in the labyrinth watching as my counterparts fled to other worlds but not I. I could not, cannot leave, my heart is forever sealed, the core of this maze, the apple crystallized, as my power rose and the greed of man kind swelled so did my core. It towers above me, only a shard is needed to give me physical form... and a shard is all it took to summon me. Across the endless cosmos the chanting of a worthy vessel echoed, the voice of desire strong enough to call on me, to reach me in my void, to extend an invitation to their world without thought to consequence. The fool who's name I don't even know, who's body I now inhabit, looming over him my shadow, personifying Greed for another place entirely. I will take my time in this world, know it, and consume it as I have done all others for eternity. I am Eden of Greed, and this is my new form.

The Cinquantenaire Arcade (French: Arcade(s) du Cinquantenaire; Dutch: Arcade(s) van het Jubelpark) is a memorial arcade in the centre of the Parc du Cinquantenaire/Jubelpark in Brussels, Belgium. The centrepiece is a monumental triple arch known as the Cinquantenaire Arch (French: Arc du Cinquantenaire; Dutch: Triomfboog van het Jubelpark). It is topped by a bronze quadriga sculptural group with a female charioteer, representing the Province of Brabant personified raising the national flag
River Wharfe.
Flowing for a distance of 65 miles (014.6 kilometres) River Wharfe is the the 21st longest river in Britain and originates in the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
Its name Wharfe means ‘a bend, crook, turn’ and is derived from the Old Norse hverfi which implies that the river was winding.
It is possible that the Old Norse name was possibly adapted from an earlier Roman name after a Roman alter found in IIkley bears the inscription “VERBEIAE SACRUM” (‘sacred to Verbeia’) which is believed to refer to the River Wharfe which was personified as a goddess.
Today a beautiful double arched stone bridge spans the River Wharfe with stone cottages strategically at the approach to the bridge.
Perhaps these cottages housed toll collectors in a past time but what we do know of the present time is that it creates a beautiful scene.

Not even 5 minutes after pulling up to Blue Island Junction, and I got a gut feeling to go check all the signals. Just as I did that, this BA9 (I think) came around the curve and under the Rock with 3802 up front.
Pretty typical of my luck to stumble upon this, and also pretty typical for my luck that 3802 started puking smoke just after passing the crossing, making for a dramatic undocumented scene. God, I wish I knew about Francisco 10 minutes before…

Personifying prehistoric beauty, theological relevance, and environmental importance, this August 12, we honor one of Earth’s most magnificent creatures with World Elephant Day. Over the last decade, the number of elephants has significantly dropped by 62% and they could be mostly extinct by the end of the next decade.
It is estimated that, every day, 100 African elephants are killed by poachers. The desire for ivory in Asian markets has led to the slaughter of thousands of elephants. World Elephant Day was created to raise awareness and create change to save these majestic creatures.
Since its founding in 2012 by Patricia Sims and the Elephant Reintroduction Foundation of Thailand along with over 100 elephant conservation organizations worldwide, World Elephant Day has reached millions of individuals who love elephants and want to do whatever they can to help.
World Elephant Day is a day where organizations and individuals can rally together to give a voice to the issues threatening elephants.
This powerful, collective global movement offers a way to establish and endorse conservation solutions to make the world a safer place for elephants and their habitats so future generations can appreciate them.
