Along this tranquil canal, a number of swans are preparing to nest in their self-designated sections, It can be a problem if they set up camp on the towpath side where people walk.

This section of the Pocklington canal is between Melbourne and East Cottingwith villages with East Cottingwith being the start of the canal. During the winter months, much of this area was totally flooded

The Pocklington Canal is a broad canal that runs for 9.5 miles through nine locks from the Canal Head near Pocklington in the East Riding of Yorkshire, England, to the River Derwent which it joins near East Cottingwith. Most of it lies within a designated Site of Special Scientific Interest

A Porsche 991 GT3 RS out for a cruise at sunset on a gorgeous Spring evening. I was lucky enough to experience this RS from the passenger's seat the other day and it was one of the most extreme rides I have ever been on. There isn't road the GT3 RS can't handle with ease.

This Female Greater Spotted Woodpecker let them all know she was coming to feed by calling ahead but the Blue Tits ignored her and carried on feeding on her favourite spot. She had to wait a couple of minutes but once in position she stayed there for ten minutes.

Despite our recent and onging torrid weather, I came across these Snowdrops yesterday growing wild in a sheltered spot in a nearby lane to my home in Betws yn Rhos, North Wales.

We decided to stop at Canonsburg Lake on Saturday after visiting Bobby Rahal BMW of South Hills. This was the second lake we've visited in the GT3 in several weeks, definitely a theme we need to continue. I can't get over how incredible this car is.

Tulips are popular garden plants in the east and west, but if in Turkish culture the tulip is a symbol of heaven on earth and has an almost divine status, then in the Netherlands it personifies the brevity of life.

We had a high temperature of 41° today in Pittsburgh which is the perfect temperature for the #RedStorm to head out and roam the streets. The Huracán's tires make driving in temps under 40° F a bit dicey but it did great today.

This little set up got me finding out about Iris the Greek Goddess and how she was personified as a rainbow, carrying messages between Mount Olympus and earth.

There are some upsides to these dark evenings when it's impossible to get out into nature I guess!

If ever a word was personified by a place it would be here. Despite the low water levels this gorgeous gorge still exemplifies such beauty, especially with all the Fall colors in peak condition. A cascade of colors along the rim to the right lead to the gentle falling column of water down into the valley where it is greeted with more color in the shaded dale.

At the northern end of our province stands a castle recently completed. There is also an excellent restaurant where we enjoyed dinner. My photo inspired a friend to write a poem:

"a night’s castle"

shadows on the water

highlight the setting sun

reeds feature in the foreground

darkness is soon to come

the duck wake breaks the stillness

ripples near the shore

peace here personified

yet senses search for more

earth hidden by indigo

this castle rises high

the cloudless sky near perfect

nature fills the eye

a flagpole points skyward

no ensign is on show

in the ramparts perhaps

one will never know

this is one woman’s life dream

her castle sitting proud

To me, nothing personifies Spring like the Hepatica breaking through the leaf litter on the floor of the northern woodlands. Unfortunately, they are currently being buried under a blanket of snow in my neck of the woods. But spring ephemerals are tough little beauties and I think they'll be okay. This one was photographed in Perrot State Park near Trempealeau, Wisconsin.

A friend took delivery of his BMW M2 last week and I had the opportunity to shoot and ride in it last Saturday. The M2 is quite the little beast and the Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires help grab the asphalt through the curves and propel the car in the straights.

Fairies were in my world since my very young age!! Especially via some English books talking about English gardens! They were for me like …Garden Angels!! But then, they were mostly creatures for books of children…Since I could not see them in reality!!

Getting older, I have read certain books written by educated and very rational and down to Earth people talking about their existence! Like the adorable book “To hear the Angels Sing”, by Dorothy Maclean!!! So, Dorothy Maclean is the founder of the famous Findhorn Gardens and Findhorn Community in Scotland!! These gardens are created on the sand, with the help of the Fairies, or Earth Angels!! Which had a personal daily communication with Dorothy Maclean. My Blue Aquilegia thriving in our front gardens, personifies an adorable fairy for me, according to my childhood imagination! It is such an irresistibly beautiful and etheric creature!!This last Spring I have been admiring for hours the very special Divine Art of her blooms!! This magical bloom is THE most Beautiful Aquilegia I have ever seen!! And, believe me, I have seen many! What a blessing to have this extraordinary creature living in our humble garden!

A flashback to last December when there was less rain and more sunshine. We've had a very rainy week here in Pittsburgh and the forecast looks rough for tomorrow's cars and coffee as well.
