in the beating heart of palma, a stone's throw from the bustling mercat de l’olivar, two young italians step into the frame with ease. they carry the casual confidence of the youth, a nonchalance that's almost palpable as the sun spills over the cobblestone. one stands arms crossed, the other with hands tucked nonchalantly into his pockets, both faces partially masked by the shadows of their own creation. the city breathes around them, a symphony of midday murmurs and the distant laughter of a place unbothered by the ticking clock. they are, in this moment, the unscripted ambassadors of street style, their fashion a blend of purpose and spontaneity, just like the city they find themselves in.

in barcelona, where each street corner has its own narrative, a woman pauses, perhaps to adjust her shoe, in the midst of the city's daily ballet. her shadow stretches out on the patterned pavement, a silent companion to her brief interlude. clad in a herringbone coat that speaks of timeless elegance, she carries the tool of her trade—a camera, hinting at a day spent capturing moments just like this one. it's an image that evokes the everyday poetry found in the city's rhythm, where even a moment of pause weaves into the fabric of barcelona's vibrant story.

just a stone's throw from the piazza del duomo in milan, the weekend morning light casts a gentle glow on a passerby. wrapped in a dress of vibrant swirls that echo the lively spirit of the city, she pairs it effortlessly with a bold, sun-yellow tote. her gaze, fixed on the phone in hand, is a modern connection woven into the tapestry of a historic sunday morning. amidst the grandeur of milan’s architectural treasures, life unfolds in the simple act of reading a message, a quiet contrast to the vast stories etched in the stone of the cathedral nearby.

Lawren Harris is my favourite Group of Seven painter. I love how he distills his art down to basic forms and colours. Here's a link to his works:

And while you're on that site, check out AJ Casson too......he's also amazing!

Ok, so listen, my dear sweet Flickr… here’s the thing. In what now feels like a past life; I was once a style blogger. When I had an instagram account I had a fairly large following on a style focused one called The Werewolf Style Guide. I wrote about what it was like as someone who dressed mostly goth as a teen/young adult who found color in her 30’s. I wrote about being someone on the larger side and about being someone who fell in line with a lot of societal rules about what people my shape or size or age should or shouldn’t wear by dressing fairly plain. I wrote about learning about wearing makeup in her late 30’s. I found joy in trying the things I was drawn to and dressing as a form of walking art. Using secondhand clothes as a way to become a walking breathing spectacle. I really loved putting together interesting outfits and talking about it. I don’t really have an outlet for those sorts of photos and discussion. I know thats not normally what I talk about here or the sort of stuff I usually share, but I hope if you’ve found your way over here you’ll stick around if I intersperse some of my style/secondhand fashion ramblings. It’s a form of art paired with photography that means a lot to me as both have helped me really fall into the person I feel I was meant to become. Sort of a clown, sort of a cacophony of color and pattern and texture, mostly nonsense most of the time. Thanks for listening to me ramble and I hope these speak to some people the same way some of my non-person focused photography does.

While trying to find secondhand pieces for my and Dracula’s Halloween costumes this week I came across these pants. I am not a pants wearer usually. You will almost always find me in some sort of running shorts, skirts, dresses, and soft layers. The pants are made of a fiber called Lyocell and according to Wikipedia’s article it is a “semi-synthetic fiber made from wood pulp, typically from trees like eucalyptus, birch, and oak. The natural cellulose from the wood is dissolved and spun into a strong fiber, which is then used to create fabric. Lyocell is known for being a sustainable option due to its production process, which recycles solvents and water, and its biodegradable nature.” I honestly hadn’t done much research on it until today and I am very curious. As long as I remember I have hated pants. (Except JNCO jeans and wide corduroy skater pants in the 90’s.) As a woman with some big soft curves everywhere; pants and the constant changing of what’s available due to trends has been the bane of my existence. I have tried over and over to wear jeans and it feels like a prison for my legs. As I age and my body’s cycles (especially that of bloat) have become more apparent; comfort is almost always paramount now. These pants are loose and truly buttery soft feeling. I know they lack structure and border on pajama pants, but I have already found another used pair in blue on eBay I love them so much. I see these being a consistent wardrobe piece for a long while. They have a lot of stretch in the waist which I am really enjoying. Oh and they are from brand Knox Rose. I paired them two different ways. Once with a boxy cropped short sleeve shirt I made out of a thrifted table cloth, a sort of tea time garden party pastel blazer with the cutest little floral buttons, my purple suede sneakers, and a wooden disc necklace. Everything in that outfit was thrifted. The second time was to go out to dinner and a short walk from our home to the tavern. I wore my black Tom’s (bought new several years ago), a sage green eyelet spaghetti strap tank top (Of an unknown brand and fabric. Although I’d hazard a guess at fully synthetic and fast fashion, but was bought secondhand.), a burnout velvet blue robe with a sort of warm colored floral imagery all over it and fringe (thrifted), and a large plastic amber pendant necklace (thrifted for TEN CENTS CSD 20 yrs ago). I really love finding a new to me piece of clothing that checks a lot of boxes for comfort and style. If you’ve made it this far through my style and secondhand shopping rambling I just want to say this still feels sort of awkward for me to post this sort of stuff here. It’s funny to me because I used to make YouTube videos where I changed on camera and posted almost 6 days a week with photos of my face and body. I am going to consider this a trial period to see if I find a connection here for this stuff. I really appreciate anyone taking the time to listen, as it were, when I talk at length about stuff that is important to me. <3

Went out to run some errands and I actually felt like getting shined up nice. One of the things I love most about Dracula is that he is also a weirdo and doesn’t mind the social interaction that sort of comes second nature to dressing very… loudly. Haha. I really love this sweater vest I thrifted recently. Aside from my tights (Snag tights), boots (Dr Martens from 2011-ish), and earrings (I made them), all this stuff you see is thrifted.

Last night I had a dream that my crush Jean Dujardin and I were making a movie. Inspired me this romantic outfit.

Sizzling Summer Saturday Shaved Shampooed Showered Still Sweating Smirking Smile Selfie - IMRAN™

Hurricane Debby thankfully didn’t hit us on Tampa Bay directly, but the nonstop rain dumped a gazillion tons of water on us. Even though it’s mostly dissipated, it has made for incredibly humid hot days post-hurricane.

Thankfully there were no power outages or flooding for me. The very strong winds did make rain water fly almost sideways and get pushed into roof tiles and even around the edges of large-span sliding doors. I’ll still take those problems with gratitude compared to what could’ve happened. But this humidity!!

I can shave, shower, shampoo, and get squeaky clean - but within minutes I feel the effects of the weather. The air conditioning units barely keep up. And that’s with the temps not even hitting any new records. The cool Columbia Sportswear Company T-shirt 👕 is also a nod to my alma mater Columbia University.

How’s the weather treating you wherever you are, my friends? Enjoy Saturday and a stay smiling - even if not smirking - in what’s still left of a sizzling summer.

I thought this song title was appropriate to promote the Vow of Silence. =)

As you push it up through the soil,

I will shake your filthy hand.

You may be dead to me but that don't mean we can't be friends.

Now it's time to get over this,

Long as it's clear you understand,

That I will never trust a single thing you say again.

Because the judge of you is someone I could never be,

Is why you should thank the Lord that it is Him, and it's not me.

Don't give up, it's not the end,

There's hope for every fallen man,

To pick themselves up when they think they can,

Because with every passing second comes a second chance.

You stole so much from me and there is nothing left to take,

Save a hard learned lesson on how to not make the same mistake.

And you may be delirious but that is something that will fade,

After you confess that this mess is all something that you made.

Oh, because the judge of you is someone I could never be,

Is why you should thank the Lord that it is Him, and it's not me.

But don't give up, it's not the end.

There's hope for every fallen man,

To pick themselves up when they think they can,

Because with every passing second comes a second chance

Don't give up, it's not the end.

You'll get back on your feet again.

Forgiveness can be given when you think it can,

Because with every passing second comes a second chance

'Cause with every passing second comes a second chance,

Take a good look at yourself and know,

You've got yourself a ways to go.

But difficult is not impossible,

You can take back all the lost control.

Take a good look at yourself and see,

You'll emerge eventually.

As long as your heart's not too far gone,

From the only thing that can save you from yourself...

Forgiveness can be given when you think it can,

'cause with every passing second comes a second chance.

But don't give up, it's not the end.

There's hope for every fallen man,

To pick themselves up when they think they can,

Because with every passing second comes a second chance,

Don't give up, it's not the end.

You'll get back on your feet again.

Forgiveness can be given when you think it can,

Because with every passing second comes a second chance.

This is the 296th photo in this series.

just a few rhythmic steps away from the mercat de olivar, on the path to plaça mayor in palma, she finds her own private concert. wrapped in a moss green sweater adorned with watchful eyes, she's lost in a melody that dances just for her. the soft glow of daylight caresses her contemplative face, while her hands, cradling the source of her tune, seem to be the conductors of her inward symphony. she's a soloist moving through the urban tempo, her wide denim pants catching the beat of her stride. it's a silent recital where every step is a note, every glance a lyric, in the symphony of the streets.
