I love bridges...and rivers...and colors...Since I started considering photography a hobby and persuing it in a more serious fashion, I've found myself consciously percieving amazing stuff which otherwise just happens whether anybody is here to observe it or not. It's an odd feeling to recognize; and even stranger when the feeling of insignificance sets in. I suppose that I'm trying to be remembered, or maybe just to pass down what appreciation I have for natural occurrence to the next generation. I don't know. The future scares the hell out of me, but missing it is not an option.

This photo came out how I wanted it. Saturated, colorful, evenly exposed, smooth. It feels isolated, but not lonely. The river is Trout Brook in Hacklebarney State Park.

Shot with a Canon AE-1 Program on Fuji Velvia 50. Lens: FDn 28mm f/2.8. Tripod and cable release were used.

The Southern Cassowary (Casuarius casuarius) is the second largest native bird in Australia, growing up to 1.8m in height. Its range is quite small, occurring only in coastal NE Queensland, however it is common in this habitat.

The horn covered casque can grow up to about 17cm and is a reflection of age and dominance. It is used as a tool to push through the bush. The facial skin ranges from pale blue near the eye to a darker blue & purple down the neck, with crimson wattles.

It has strong legs with three toes, and the inner toe has a sharp claw. Despite the reputation that it will readily attack a persistent intruder with a fearsome kick, it feeds mainly on fruit.

You may call me stubborn, but I'm deeply stuck on you! No matter how big the wind/wave/rain/snow/sun is, I'll be right here, stay with you, get older with you, until the day we both turn into dust and sands, to fly/flow in the air, together.

就是要溺著你,大風大浪,風吹雨打,就是不走,和你,一起風化,老化,變成遨翔天際的風沙...

This petunia keeps coming back every year, which is doubly strange, because of its being in the bricks, and because petunias are supposed to be annuals here!
