Peričnik Falls is one of the best-known waterfalls in Slovenia. It flows from a hanging valley in Triglav National Park into the glacial Vrata Valley, where the water of Peričnik Creek then flows into Bistrica Creek.

I had to deal with persistent showers when I got here although the showers relented from time to time making some shots possible. The valley was bursting with autumn colours and the walk up to the falls is short and intense.

The blend of red, orange and yellow colours coupled with flowing water and a big rocky outcrop, makes for a compelling viewing, especially if you love waterfalls. Kinda like xmas coming early :)

It is one of the most beautiful waterfalls you will ever see and oh..slap means waterfalls in Slovenian :)

St. Kitts & Nevis

left the Atlantic Ocean, right on the Caribbean Sea, in the middle St. Kitts and in the background the island of Nevis.

Happy new week my friends =)

"There’s a light that shines in the darkness.

There’s a destiny waiting at the end of the road.

There’s meaning in the middle of this emptiness.

There’s a reason you’ve been asked to carry this heavy load.

Lessons are taught when we reach out

Farther than we thought we’d ever dare.

Faith abounds when we confront our deepest doubts,

Enduring more than we dreamed we could ever bear.

There’s a dawn waiting at the edge of every midnight.

There’s a seed planted with every fallen leaf.

With every wrong there’s the chance to make a right.

With every hour of suffering there’s an eternity of relief.

Our darkest moments give us the opportunity

For seasons of our greatest growth.

Everyday we work towards continuity

Of acceptance and persistent hope"

Golden Plover persistent and somewhat special whistling tones are very characteristic, and can be heard over long distances. Everyone who has walked in the mountains during the summer in Norway has probably become acquainted with the Golden Plover. At least they have heard the monotonous sound, if they have not seen the bird itself.

In Norway, Golden Plover is found almost all over the country in higher-lying areas. It is quite shy and it usually do not get closer than 20-30 meters.

Even though the Golden Plover is a wading bird, it is not often you see it out in the water in search of food. It is more associated with dry mountains moors, where it also nests. When it gets to cold in Norway, the Golden Plover migrate to Southern and Western Europe.

Persistent male Yellow-bellied Sapsucker returns to check his work.

Uncommon migrant. Note the faint yellow coloration on his breast.

Some trees seem attractive year after year to these critters. This particular tree located in my rear yard has hosted spring revisits for many years. Also, evidence exists to suggest the running sap also provides a food source to early spring butterflies (Mourning Cloak, Eastern Comma, etc) that do not sip nectar and early arrival hummingbirds.

Persimmon, also known as palo santo, is a tropical fruit that belongs to the Ebanáceas family. There are different species of consumption, of different size and taste. The fruit is a berry, with a persistent calyx, and it can be astringent (due to the presence of tannin) and then there is a complete maturation on the tree, or not astringent and complete maturation after harvest. It has the peculiarity that it cannot be consumed at the time of harvest, since it requires an over-ripening process due to its harshness, which is why it is usually treated before by smearing it with some kind of strong alcoholic beverage, such as cognac, brandy or the cazalla.

Unlike most pics that I regularly see on Hong Kong's popular Symphony of Lights laser show, this one is different as the heavy storm clouds persistently blanketed the skies. We could hardly see the laser beams because of the torrential rain and the overcast conditions. Still, there is no want of colors in the harbor which enveigle just about everyone.

Nymphaea lotus var. thermalis is a variety of Nymphaea lotus native to Romania. It is endemic to the thermal water of the Peţa River, Sânmartin, Bihor County, Romania. The area is protected as a nature reserve (51.0 hectares /126 acres) and consists of a rivulet along with three ponds. The water has a roughly constant temperature of around 30 °C, the site having an average air temperature of 10–11 °C. The thermal waters have been recorded as early as 1211, but it was only in 1799 that the first record of N. lotus was made, by Pál Kitaibel. Janos Tuzson proposed in 1907 that this population's unusual location could be explained by the persistent heat provided by the thermal springs that could have sustained the population at a pre-ice age time when the plant would have been spreading across the warmer regions of Europe. Ephesians 6:10-12

New International Version

The Armor of God

10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
