I was surprised to find that these “Chinese fine egg noodles” are made in Belgium but then I discovered that the word noodle derives from the German word nudel. f8 , 1/200s, ISO 800. Pentax -M f1.4 50mm (reversed).

Two identical 1 3/4 inch wooden matches lit simultaneously. Image is less than 3 inches. Two boxes of matches were required to achieve "simultaneous" lighting effect. Suppose one could have employed double exposure or cloning for even better result but not truly consistent with intent of theme as proposed in the MM Discussion. I have used a set of dice previously for a different Flickr theme and did not wish to be repetitive albeit they would be exactly alike. flic.kr/p/LvZLdh

the perfect match

This is the final entry for my photo story 'Apple crumble in the making' - from flower bud to apple crumble. It turned out to be a perfect match (pun intended) for this week's Macro Monday's theme 'Perfect Match'. What is better than fresh apple crumble with warm vanilla custard? I can tell you, the cake was really delicious! If you want the recipe, please message me and I will send the details :-)

Thanks to everyone following my photo story, please find all the previous entries in this album I created: flic.kr/s/aHskA9QSfq

I had a lot of fun trying to take creative shots of the different stages of the life of an apple, hope you enjoyed it too!

HMM!

This is my contribution to Macro Mondays theme of "Perfect Match". It is a Hovis digestive biscuit with a piece of Belton Farm Sage Derby cheese. The biscuit is sweet and is complemented by the smooth, creamy Derby cheese marbled with a delicate sage infusion - I would usually have a glass of port too to accompany this perfect match - HMM

but i love their fabulous outlook and this story in this..

Macro Mondays Theme:Perfect Match

Subject: Lock and key

”A soulmate is someone who has locks that fit our keys, and keys to fit our locks. When we feel safe enough to open the locks, our truest selves step out and we can be completely and honestly who we are; we can be loved for who we are and not for who we're pretending to be. Each unveils the best part of the other. No matter what else goes wrong around us, with that one person we're safe in our own paradise.”

Thread perfectly matching the eye of the needle and the shape of the polka dots.

Button and buttonhole - a perfect and necessary match.

There is a second perfect match in it If you consider the non macro sense: Jeans and America. Invented in Genua, the jeans applied for a patent in the USA 1873 by Davis and Levi Strauss & Co and got it. The purpose was to provide the gold digger with sturdy working clothes. Later it was colored with the famous indigo and got this blue color.

BTW: The jeans got its name from "genes", the french translation for the italian city Genua.

These two mini-macarons survived the photoshoot despite my husband buzzing around… 😊

They are 1.5” in diameter and should taste like orange and chocolate. Why eat only one when you can have double the pleasure eating two! Of course, you can always share them with your loved one! But only if you have to! 😉

Thank you everyone for your visits, faves, and kind comments

Full moon of August and our CN Tower - perfect match!

Witnessed a marvelous moonrise of August's Full Moon.

Also it's a seasonal Blue Moon - the third Full Moon of an astronomical season that has four Full Moons.

The August's Full Moon is called Sturgeon Moon, other names include Fruit Moon, which is quite appropriate for what I captured :-) like Orange Moon!

Toronto, August 22, 2021.

Black & White they are the perfect match, they go together to form light and shade.

Both tubes of paint are from Windsor & Newton (5ml)

The colours are Lamp Black and Chinese White.

Thanks for looking.

Macro Mondays: For a perfect match.

A perfect match - in the kitchen. The purple blur along the top left (which I’ve been in two minds about - my internal match) is a plastic chopping board.

Macro Mondays: Perfect Match theme

These earrings were created by Navajo jewelry artist R.H. Begay. The design is based on a traditional Navajo design for a wedding basket.

"In the design itself, the center means the beginning of life with the black symbolizing clouds or mountains of the inner and outer worlds. The red is the light of the sun with the entire design opening to allow the people to emerge. Another interpretation is that the outer black design is the male, the inner black design is the female, and the red is the power that brings them together. The opening, as in the Navajo rugs, acts as a door to let the spirits out."

Macro Monday Theme: Perfect Match

This machine cut dovetail is about 1/2" (13mm) across. Impressive how well it fits together.

When we were kids, we used to sing a song:

"Peanut, peanut butter!

Jelly, Jelly!

Peanut, peanut butter!

Jelly, Jelly!"

They are the #perfectmatch.

I really appreciate your comments and faves. I'm not a hoarder of contacts, but enjoy real-life, honest people. You are much more likely to get my comments and faves in return if you fit the latter description. Just sayin. :oD

Wooden pieces that must perfectly "MATCH" to make a wooden sphere

My entry for this week's Macro Mondays challenge, Perfect Match.

There are a lot of places where components need to be near identical for things to work. More so with optical instruments such as Cameras, Lasers, Binoculars, telescopes etc,.

Slightly off-tolerance and the results are unrecognisable!

So I have chosen the "identical twins" - which are two prisms from my Nikon Binoculars. The Binoculars were toast, but I knew there'd be quality prisms inside, which came in handy for this week!

The setup: The two prisms were placed on black reflective acrylic sheet, lit from the top by a speedlight with a DIY snoot. Hence the reflections on the sheet are minimum.

Although, originally, I wanted to show the effects of diffraction, I was unsuccessful!

Thank you for looking, faving and commenting on my photos, it is very much appreciated!

I brought this sushi sauce bowl out for another shot and thought it would also be good for my idea for this challenge-peas and carrots, which the infamous “somebody” has decided go oh so well together. I had to crop the bowl off a bit as it measured 3.25”. So, here is 2.75” of yin/yang peas and carrots.

I think I have had my fill of peas and carrots for a long while. Not that I ate them but just shooting them reminded me of the days of yore when Mom used to make us eat certain things “before you can get up from that table”. Things like:1.Beets-I still cannot even smell them to this date, 2. Liver-she tried to pass it off as “steak”, we were young but not fools, 3-Creamed Corn-unreal in its weird sweetness for my taste in vegetables and finally-Peas and Carrots. Most of the vegetables in our household came from cans and the peas we were served were strangely brownish-green and just tasted like horrible mush. Anyway, the only things I have done with peas in the past 4 decades are adding them to paella and taking this shot. Carrots are good but I prefer them fresh and uncooked or sautéed. Anyway, don’t pass the peas and carrots, please……

Grana Padano with Sangiovese - a rather pleasant pairing...
