SAINT AUGUSTIN CHURCH

During the second Empire, this neighbourhood, known as 'little Poland', underwent significant redevelopment following construction work by Haussmann – broad straight avenues were laid out and people flocked to live in the new houses built there, greatly increasing the population. A parish was therefore established and a church built, and great care was taken that the church matched the elegance and wealth of the surrounding housing. The architect called in to design Saint Augustin was Victor Baltard, famed for his previous work on the Halles de Paris

"The first man who, having fenced in a piece of land, said "This is mine," and found people naïve enough to believe him, that man was the true founder of civil society. From how many crimes, wars, and murders, from how many horrors and misfortunes might not any one have saved mankind, by pulling up the stakes, or filling up the ditch, and crying to his fellows: Beware of listening to this impostor; you are undone if you once forget that the fruits of the earth belong to us all, and the earth itself to nobody."

― Jean-Jacques Rousseau, Discourse on the Origin of Inequality

A picture from the stunning Atocha train station in Madrid. It is magnificent; and I loved walking around there while waiting for the high speed train to Toledo. Here, in this scene, I liked the lines and the light.

There are more pictures from Spain in the Spain album.

People spend hours making these intricate designs on the street only to have them destroyed when religious parades go by. Once the parades have passed by, they immediately begin to create another design for the same thing to happen all over again.

I simply can`t resist.....:-))

Still Bern/Switzerland. I am fascinated by my new 1.8 lens with 85 mm fixed focal length. While the guy waits for the green light to cross the street, he checks his smartphone. The bokeh is fantastic!

Hello my wonderful people!

Today I got my hair cut (that's why it's straight) I figured since I never straighten my hair EVER I should take some photos to commemorate it. HA!

The Spanish Steps (Italian: Scalinata di Trinità dei Monti) are a set of steps in Rome, Italy, climbing a steep slope between the Piazza di Spagna at the base and Piazza Trinità dei Monti, dominated by the Trinità dei Monti church at the top (Wikipedia).

There were huge crowds when we went there.

hai mandato solo me

solo me solo me solo me solo me..

My long time friends and contacts know me for my passion of music and dance…

This week I was in a small town in Puerto Rico called Guaynabo and was privileged to see “Danzafrica” with some amazingly talented young dancers… with your permission, I will post several shots of this beautiful festival in the coming days…

This one is dedicated to all who have danced with the light… and to the one who dances with me… if you have ever danced and can feel the heartbeat of your partner… that’s how close I want to dance with you… it’s good to be back… loving the light… and loving each one of you…
