I'm using a slightly different drawing technique for this one. Instead of drawing everything with a single HB in one go from top to bottom, I'm experimenting as I work, starting with the very dark tones of the feather edges (using the dark and soft HB Papermate non-stop or Rexel HB), then going over this with a very slghtly softer Rexel HB to smooth the outline, then filling in with Derwent Graphic H and 2H. Experimenting with the spectacles, too...

My brother was a wonderful child and a gorgeous man. He is an angel in haven now.
The Clip Note is designed to be clipped to gifts, bags, flowers, or anything else that you can think of clipping it to. Illustrations are digitally reproduced from original pen drawing. This card has been printed on 400gsm paper and it has a smooth surface.
All cards are packaged in a plastic wrapper for protection. All cards are shipped in a regular envelope with a cardboard backing to help ensure that no bending or folding takes place.
The Clip Note has the Venerate logo printed on the back.

Pencil Portrait of a folk icon. His music and lyrics along with his unique singing style and the spirit in which he sang proved to be a source of inspiration for me many years ago and today. I did this portrait and presented it to him at a concert in Va. beach . His photo reference is now posted on my Facebook page.

this took forever to finish - the headdress was just endless. but i like this image - and i like the drawing. although, i notice that her eyes do seem like they could be looking in different directions - they are doing that in the original photo as well. it just doesn't appear that way when you just look at it quickly. you have to look for a few seconds to really notice...
