from a recent trip to charleston. these were from the flight down.
Only animal allowed in the building (can't remember what her excuse was). Such a sweetie...nosing out just far enough to catch a pat or two
Taken for active assignment weekly group.
The challenge is to get a picture with only 5 colors. I hopped that "black and white" counted as 2 and then the 3 lids, all different colors would be the 3 making this picture have 5 colors.
WIT my daughter and her friend just outside the garage, playing with home made play dough in the driveway... I set my camera on the ground and said "Girls look under the door, I want to take your picture" This is what I got.
Changed one image to gray scale, and left one in color and made it the bottom layer. I selected the 3 lids and then deleted that part from the grey scale layer.
probably not the best job if you view it large... So don't :OP
I wondered why one of my saplings had a lot of its leaves stripped - then I found this little fella , I believe a Hawk Moth caterpillar. ( P.S. he is now a pupa!! )
A very tiny Katydid nymph (1/3 " long) peeks out from the Butterfly Milkweed blossoms. Many times he hid, and I had to find him again. The pink in the bokeh is from Zinnias.
Sneak peek for May swap... This one will be going to sewgentle. I tried these flowers for the first time and love the way they came out!!!
I hate this Title with a passion
I'm really in a photo mood today I've taken a bunch of pictures just this morning. And I'm not even done editing them. I'm excited! My grandmother "Goodmama" is coming up today so I might have some pictures of her coming along, maybe not. But MORE WILL BE POSTED :)
this is one of the little soft toys I've knitted recently. I have a row of ten, all different sitting on my shelf.
Peek & Cloppenburg Flagship Store, Vienna, Austria
The new Peek & Cloppenburg flagship store will be located on Kärtner Strasse, between
Johannesgasse and Himmelpfortgasse, in Vienna’s historic centre, a district protected as a
UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The starting point for the design was the idea of a “building with windows” – a modern, abstract
interpretation of a classical building typology, which is not freestanding but part of the overriding
structure of the urban area. The building will assert itself as tectonically powerful, and
demonstrate a long-lasting and institutional character through the selection of its materials and
proportions, whilst remaining modest and above all becoming an integral part of the street
façade. The defining material for the façade is a light-coloured, finely pointed Danube Limestone
(Donaukalk) – a typical Viennese building material. The façade will be solidly built, corresponding
in its materiality and craftsmanship with the historic context.
The new building volume will close the urban block as a continuation of the neighbouring
buildings. In its rational structure the design ties in strongly with the tradition of late Viennese
department stores. The façade will subtly react to the structure of the neighbouring buildings.
The window proportions and the ratio between closed wall and openings will reflect the historic
neighbouring buildings. The otherwise recessed glass layer will be brought forward on the ground
floor, transforming the wall openings into display windows at street level. On the fourth floor, the
façade will open up to the city through a loggia.
The six sales levels will be accessed from the main entrance on Kärtner Strasse via a central
atrium, flooded by daylight. A translucent glass and bronze structure crowns the atrium in the
tradition of the large department stores of the 19
th
century, acting as a counterpoint to the sales
areas with its textile stock.

This wild and crazy guy is difficult to photograph due to chronic hyperactivity.
When I saw him under the covers, I thought I might have a chance.
With camera in one hand, I lifted up the covers with the other hand and what you see is the end result. He didn't stay there for long!
He is a source of constant amusement.
Was browsing the Cool Cats blog and came across an awesome photo taken by So Me of a cute girl and I thought it would be perfect for the series. In this one I printed off the words peek a boo and roughly cut it out and just placed it over the drawing when I scanned and it turned out nice.

And we're live! After a few weeks of scanning, editing, tweaking, and fine tuning, I'm happy to announce that I've launched my first three packs of vintage paper textures.
These 15 textures include ink smears, stains, creases, folds, and all sorts of grit accumulated through the years. The set has been carefully scanned in from a late 1800s typography reference book.
A bit of technical data:
- At least 7,880x4,990 pixels
- Scanned in at 1,200 ppi
- Complete pack file size: 404 Mb
Don't miss out on this great launch celebration: this texture pack is available as part of Design Cuts current bundle, "The Essential, Creative Design Arsenal" - http://www.designcuts.com/design-cuts-deals/essential-design-bundle
You can have a peek of what's in the pack in the attachments.
Finally, note that there are two other paper textures packs captured from the same booklet!
