Blackhawk Waterfall as viewed from a ways back and through the trees. I think this might actually by about the best vantage point and time of year for shooting this particular location. Any earlier and it would be too overgrown to view and any later the ugly Route 31 bridge would be visible in the background. My settings though....not ideal. It was windy, so I wanted to minimize exposure time to try to get the shot between gusts and without too much leaf movement. Didn't need to be as fast as 1/6 second though, and ISO 6400. This was with a Kood ND 400 (9-stop) filter. Might need to get some less dense filters for these situations.

I was gliding through the serene landscapes of Joyce Park in Butler County, Ohio, when I encountered a scene that I knew would captivate you. Photographing this place transported me to another era, where simplicity and nature coexist perfectly. Outside our mobile is a lake with a pair of swans. These are 2008 babies, only one survived and the male drove his son away at nesting time this year, 2009. This is our view from our deck.

This guy was out photographing the lighthouse on the same morning, most likely also hoping for that crazy red sky that comes every so often.
