no importa si de ida o de regreso ... me siento feliz al pasar por ese hermoso arco que me llena de vida...

Mi Teleferico is an impressive achievement (though engineered and built by the Germans). Since the 1970s, the government in La Paz had been looking for ways to connect El Alto (sitting at 4,095 meters/13,435 feet in elevation) up on the Altiplano plateau with La Paz (400 meters/1,300 feet lower) down in the Choqueyapu River valley. These are the 2nd and 3rd largest cities in Bolivia, respectively -- though you could be forgiven for thinking it's just one huge city.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A quick side note about the two cities: El Alto is much poorer than La Paz, is the largest city in Latin America with a mostly indigenous population (75% Aymara, 10% Quechua, 15% mestizo). The population is just under 1,000,000.
El Alto used to be a bedroom community, but with its rapid growth (and growing poverty), it's sprawl is contributing to pollution down below and on the fringes of town where new development is going up, and the poorer folks tend to live. Generally speaking, it's recommended to stay out of El Alto at night -- especially if by yourself.
Lots of bars, hustlers, prostitution are up there, but also the international airport and the Bolivian cholita (women) wrestlers.
La Paz, down below, has a population closer to 750,000. From above, it looks and feels congested.
Back to the story of the cable cars...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

So in the 1970s, the dilemma was, how can we connect El Alto and La Paz without having traffic jams every day from congested buses and microbuses getting stuck on winding roads going up and down the cliffside? Cable car.

It didn't come into existence until the 2010s, though. The first indigenous president in Latin American history Evo Morales -- a divisive figure, but that's for another day -- got the mayors of La Paz and El Alto together, with the governor of La Paz department, and worked it out. Phase one (red, green, yellow lines) opened in 2014, and phase 2 followed in 2017.

There are currently 7 lines that connect up top with the valley, and it runs 17 hours a day. It's a great system. Still takes a while to get around, but it's a pretty good solution. (Example: It takes 3 lines and about an hour to get from Sopocachi station on the yellow line up to El Alto, and down to the cemetery on the red line.)

Everything aside, it's neat, it's the highest cable car system in the world, and offers the best panoramic views of La Paz. Also a good aerial view of the huge 16 de julio market in El Alto from above on the silver line.

La Paz, Bolivia, stands out as the world's highest administrative capital, perched on the Andes' Altiplano plateau at an elevation exceeding 3,500 meters. This unique positioning offers breathtaking views and a distinct cultural atmosphere shaped by its altitude.

The city's landscape unfolds in a spectacular fashion, especially when viewed from Mi Teleférico, the extensive aerial cable car network that provides not only a vital transportation link but also an opportunity for residents and visitors alike to witness the city's grandeur from above.

La paz exige cuatro condiciones esenciales: Verdad, justicia, amor y libertad.

Behold, the Bolivian Navy! Bolivia still maintains a "sovereign claim" to access to the sea, which it lost in one of its many disastrous wars with its neighbours. Its old coastline is now part of Chile, and Bolivia's Navy has not much to do apart from patrol Lake Titicaca, not, as may be assumed, in case of a Peruvian marine attack, but to remind the world that it once used to have a coastline.

Podemos mudar o mundo, e podemos começar AGORA!

Não mais a dor, mas o amor.....
