April 6, 2025: The General George S. Patton Memorial Museum, in Chiriaco Summit, California, off the Interstate 10. The museum is on the site of the former Camp Young, part of the World War II Desert Training Center.
In March 1942, the U.S. Army set up the Desert Training Center in the California desert. General George Patton and the 3rd Armored Division were the first troops trained at the new facility. After four months, Patton and the 3rd Armored departed for overseas deployment and the North Africa campaign. Over the next two years, over 1 million troops were trained at the site.
Snapshot from an 8mm film transferred to VHS then to DV then to PC... Home Movies from the early 70's. The problem with the 8mm is that it was rarely in focus and the exposure and speed just kind of jumps around (wind up camera). So it was painful to get decent captures.... Jill seems to be giving the universal "This Rocks" hand sign...
