This was shot from a tunnel under a highway on Long Island. The top piece is the metal grate. The other patterns were shadows of it.

A flock of about 12 doves (I think) fly in a circle that covers a relatively small area, numerous times and it happens regularly.

So I went outside with my camera and no ideas of what to take pictures of for this weeks theme and then I stumbled on it...Literally!! I found my inspiration in my welcome mat!

three little patterns, free on my blog!

I've been experimenting with patterns and colors using programs like Paintshop Pro Photo X2, Painter 4, and Photoshop CS5. These two I used PSP Photo X2 to create the black outlines and general shape and then painted them in Painter 4.

Lots of singularities here. When light is reflected or refracted through a smooth bumpy surface the rays bunch together in such a way that an intersecting plane will see caustic patterns of more intense light. This is where the rays are tangent to a catastrophe surface in 3-space. The curves are parts of fold surfaces, while junctions are various kind of umbilic catastrophe surfaces.

This is how I currently keep my supplies, including my pattern reference cards!

It was my first time to Las Vegas and the casinos on the "strip". The experience for me was simply out-of-this-world. The cash-rich Mega casinos each with their own unique style, unmatched luxuries and architecture left me spell bound.

May 27 2007, Las Vegas strip, Nevada. Ahh! The strip and the casinos.

Illustration for Cat Fancy magazine to accompany article on typical tabby cat patterns. Believe it or not, even tough they look like pelts of skinned cats, this was the least-gruesome option and even suggested by the editor.
