One of several shots tried today for the @dailyshoot assignment of patterns-- and close to my final choice-- the fabulous texture of an alligator bark juniper tree.

There are clear patterns in this photo formed by countless small rectangles. And they are quite interesting. This is my carpet lol. I used f4.5 to get more things in focus. And really close down to those patterns by using 70mm.

This is the first of twenty sand patterns I photographed at Goblin Valley Park near Hanksville, Utah. It was the first one I noticed. The patterns were becoming more pronounced because of the angle of the late afternoon sun. As I continued to search, I found stranger and stranger sand patterns.

The park is best known for its fantastic erosion formations which are in the thousands within the park. However, while everyone else was looking up, I was looking down.

The patterns in the sand created by the meager rainfall, fascinated me to no end, and I spent most of the day wandering through the small washes looking for more interesting shapes and patterns...

This pattern is likely the most useful for adjusting your HDTV. It consists of two groups of three concentric circles against an 18% gray background. The left starts at black and progresses in two 5% linear steps. The left one starts at white and decreases in two 5% linear steps.

On a properly-adjusted TV you should be able to distinguish each of the steps.
