I spotted this covered walkway in Columbus Ohio while in town for the Saturday Buckeye game. Thought it was a neat pattern of curved glass panels.

Pattern Artist 3.1 makes it possible to combine multiple patterns into a single image.

Lower Antelope Canyon has always held my fascination and I never pass thru Page, Arizona without a climb into its incredible recesses. In fact, if you browse thru my photostream, you'll come upon a number of my favorite slot canyon images - all in color. And so, when my August issue of Outdoor Photographer arrived a day or two ago, I had to admire the b&w cover shot by one of my inspirations - Elizabeth Carmel. Thus, duly inspired, I set about converting a few of my Fuji Velvia images into black and white. I do love the panoply of colors created by the sunlight bouncing from wall to wall, but I must admit, the patterns are fascinating in black and white.

Pattern cutout of Arches 88 paper. This one taken with the paper lying flat on the kitchen countertop.

I am not normally a fan of a busy image, but I liked the colours and pattern formed by the crosshatching of grasses and the contrasting texture and shapes of the water droplets.

I was interested in the patterning that was happening with the pond leaves here, They radiated out all the way across the pond. You do need to really see this in large if you are interested in getting the full effect :)

We have several of these growing in our yard - they produce ornate patterns of complex leaf structures and are used as "backdrops" with brighter flowers in front.

Some see patterns, some see chaos. That's what's great about nature.

Leaf patterns and textures taken with an Olympus EM-10 in Sankey valley park, St Helens' Merseyside.

While Major hiked up to fly one of the glaciers with his drone (legal in this part of the park) I opted to just shoot around the trails near the parking lot, so many fall colors. I was surprised to still see the Heather blooming and liked the mix with the red leaves.
