A very pleasant couple of hours up at Embleton this morning! The weatherman said it would stop raining at 7am and indeed it did....within a minute or two anyway!!

Cathedral Of St. John The Divine

Divine Pathways is an art installation by Anne Patterson. Members of the community wrote hopes, wishes and prayers on ribbons which were hung in the cathedral.

The pathway leads to the village church and is surrounded by fields with hedges along both sides. They are a favourite place for many birds and squirrels.

This arboretum/preserve was created by its founder in memory of his son. It is a nature lover’s paradise – with more than 80 acres of trails, a wildflower meadow, habitat for numerous woodland animals, many species of ferns, and massive oak trees. It is located on Harbor Road, off Main Street, across from Stony Brook Grist Mill. The preserve is open to the public year-round from dawn to dusk and is free of charge.

Kerlingafjöll has a mysterious atmosphere - especially when there is nobody else around. The hikers at the bridge were the only ones to creep around the valleys so late and after a while even they disappeared. Where to? I don't know...

A nice shot from this morning's sunrise. I am blown away by how much detail is kept in digital cameras, it almost seems like cheating in the challenge of taking well-exposed photos. I took about 100 photos this morning, whereas on my linhof, i am sure i would have taken 8 at most.

This was a revisited location with my new camera, putting it through its paces. It handled the scene well.
