This swallow study was performed to observe the patient’s swallow mechanisms after surgery, and used a water-soluble contrast, which is specifically for patients with suspected perforation around the esophagus, as it can be absorbed into the body if a puncture is present. JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (Feb. 24, 2021) - Lt. Cmdr. Mark McInturff, a pathologist at Naval Hospital Jacksonville, examines tissue. A native of Hutchinson, Kansas, he holds a doctor of medicine degree from Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. McInturff says, “The most rewarding part of my job is being a part of the highly professional and dedicated laboratory team. The accurate and timely results our clients have come to expect, which directly impact nearly all important patient care decisions, are made possible by the tireless efforts of individuals working behind the scenes in the laboratory.” The Navy Medical Corps celebrates its 150th birthday on March 3. On Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2022, the Eugene Applebaum College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences hosted its 19th annual College Research Day. Andrew King, MD, presented the keynote, "Pain and Opioid Use Disorder: Evidence Based Approaches," and awards were presented for top student research.
Alison Robertson, Iowa State University plant pathologist advises farmers to pay special attention to seedling diseases this spring, given the cool, wet conditions. "Do stand counts and decide if a replant is needed," she says. "You can use seed treatments and change hybrids, but the only thing to really decide is to replant or not."

Dr. Kurt Williams, a veterinary pathologist at Michigan State University, has been named director of the Oregon Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory at Oregon State University.

Observations on corpse: Pathologist video observation: Well circumscribed brownish lesions to different parts of body - might be burns.
Details: An eyewitness told Amnesty International that he had been with Mahmoud Abd al-Rahman al-Zu’bi, a 72-year-old man from al-Musayfrah, and more than 20 others, including children, in a van heading towards Dera’a as part of a peaceful protest. When shooting suddenly began all the people in the van jumped out and rushed to hide behind olive trees and rocks on the other side of the road. The shooting continued for 20 minutes. When the shooting became less intense and stopped from time to time, the eyewitness and others hiding near him, including Mahmoud al-Zu’bi, started consulting each other on how to escape and decided to take it in turns to run away between the shooting. However, he then saw the soldiers approaching them so all of those remaining started running towards some nearby bushes. Mahmoud al-Zu’bi was apparently unable to escape due to his advanced years. The eyewitness learned later that he had been arrested that day and was returned dead to his family 20 days later. There were reportedly marks on his face that looked like cigarette burns.
