Strip-piecing, my first endeavor.
I had to rip out the white-pink-white strip because I apparently can't measure a 1/4-inch seam properly.

This will be machine-pieced, also my first endeavor. I think I'll hand sew the white alternate blocks in, hand piece the backing, and hand quilt, since it will only be about 15" by 18".

Asheville, NC, June 23, 2016, 12:55pm: A patch of wild knapweed beside the Norfolk Southern Railroad tracks in Asheville’s River Arts district. The tallest plants are about three feet high, and the blooms are about 1½ inches across. I should have used a faster shutter speed to stop movement because of high winds.

The Pumpkin Patch is located on Sauvie's Island just 15 minutes northwest of Portland, OR. From Portland, take Highway 30 west towards Scappoose to the Sauvie Island bridge. After crossing the bridge, circle to the left and loop back under the bridge, following Gillihan Road to the farm. Head straight 2 miles until you see our signs.
Market and U-pick: 9 AM - 6 PM, June through October.
Pumpkin Cottage Giftshop: 10am - 6pm.
Patio Cafe: Friday, Saturday, Sunday. 10am - 6pm.
