Catching up on some back shots of the city.
On my walk around the city to catch up with events while I was away. February 1, 2015 Christchurch New Zealand.
Though this picture doesn't convey the beauty I saw from the plane this green patchwork farmland along side the brown mountain divide was very striking. In fact this patch work came up later in a building I saw downtown for which I'm pretty certain this might have been the inspiration for the design.

The Pumpkin Patch is located on Sauvie's Island just 15 minutes northwest of Portland, OR. From Portland, take Highway 30 west towards Scappoose to the Sauvie Island bridge. After crossing the bridge, circle to the left and loop back under the bridge, following Gillihan Road to the farm. Head straight 2 miles until you see our signs.
Market and U-pick: 9 AM - 6 PM, June through October.

PERSONAL FUN FACT written by my sister: This lovely lady is our first, and currently only, doll to use the "monkey face." I love how Coleco Cabbies use so many molds, and yet they still look equally Cabbage Patch. Does that make sense? Anyway, Shelly suggested borrowing names from our guinea pigs to name Cabbie girls when we were gifted MANY (and one adorable little boy) in one go in July 2024! I said, "The monkey face doll has to be Poppy." I don't know why, considering that one of Dorothy's nicknames is "Monkey Fat." Maybe it's because the name collectors use for this mold is just plain ridiculous and so is our guinea pig Poppy, with her mohawk. Poppy the doll is pretty silly! She's in really good shape. She reminds me of our Wendy, who is also from 1985 and green eyed. Wendy's hair is more strawberry colored. It's got a rusty hue to it. Poppy is in overall nicer shape than Wendy, and I don't even mean just because she has her outfit. Both have very mild Cabbie Pox, but Poppy's are even milder. And Wendy just has a forlorn look, even after all the love and care, that Poppy doesn't have. (It doesn't help that Napoleon the chinchilla bit poor Wendy's nose! That was the last time he was anywhere near a doll.) Poppy is more vibrant. But there's something a little silly about her, which is why the name fits so well!
