Montana Rail Link's M-LAUMIS manifest (LM) works its way through Bozeman Pass with the helper set assisting on the head end.
The Hahnenmoss Pass (German: Hahnenmoospass) is a high mountain pass in Switzerland, connecting Lenk im Simmental to Adelboden in the Bernese Oberland. With an elevation of 1,950 metres above sea level, the Hahnenmoos Pass is the lowest pass between the upper Simmental (west) and the Engstligental (east). Although a road leads to the pass from Adelboden, the pass can not be traversed by car. In winter the pass is part of a ski area.
This place means so much to me! It's where I saw my first Moose and where I had a close encounter with a grizzly! Kananaskis Alberta!

Thanks, as always, for stopping by and for all of your kind comments. Hope everyone has a great Friday.

Lindis Pass doesn't offer too many places to pull over and take in the beauty of this area. Even though there is a higher altitude here, it is not considered an alpine pass due to the dry conditions of the area.
I try not to post too many photos of sleepy cats but the truth is that cats sleep a lot, especially during hot summer days. So here is Sethi, recovering from his adventures of the night before and recharging the batteries for the next night. The "bed" he is lying on is the roof of Cleo's cat house on the porch. Cleo doesn't climb up there anymore and so the boys are free to use it.

An outcrop of graniitic rocks, which are part of an Archean (Precambrian) igneous metamorphic complex, display spheroidal weathering. The rocks sit atop the Beartooth Pass located on Beartooth Plateau in Park County, Wyoming. The pass rises 210.949 feet above sea level. The rocks on the Plateau have been glaciated and weathered by extreme freeze thaw cycles, The mountains in the distances, which are still part of the Beartooth Mountains, lie in Montana. The high peak, Mount Rearguards, stands 12,156’ above sea level.
The Hardknott pass motor road can be seen climbing steeply on the right of the picture. It shares its title of the steepest road in England with the Rosedale chimney bank in North Yorkshire. The series of hairpin bends make for a challenging drive.
The drama and majesty of Glencoe only increases in bad weather. I've traveled along it numerous times on my way to the north west coast visiting family and seen it with many hats on! This was my first overnight stopover to capture the start of the day but there will be more.

Scientific name: Passer montanus.
A scarce and declining bird, the tree sparrow can be spotted on farmland and in woodlands; it is not an urban bird in the UK. It has a brown cap and black cheek-spots, unlike the similar house sparrow. Info: The Wildlife Trusts.

“August has passed, and yet summer continues by force to grow days. They sprout secretly between the chapters of the year, covertly included between its pages.”
