Another one from our train journey - this time, going UP Snowdon. I've edited this in Topaz Studio so I've added a bit of texture just for the joy of it. The sun was sinking behind the mountains and cast a lovely light on the tops. See that little line at the foot of the mountains? If you look closely you'll see cars. They look so tiny ! A magical experience for us. Beautifiul Wales !!

Thanks as always for all your comments and faves... I am so sorry not to keep up - my other "fast" laptop is undergoing an update which is taking ages, so I thought I'd make use of the time on the slow laptop. :o)

Happy week, month, year, my friends ! Visit Snowdonia - you won't be disappointed (except it does rain a lot). Something I should mention.... everyone was so very friendly. It's a wonderful country.

Oh, best seen large by clicking on the image.

The route up Long Tom Pass starts at 1456m and climbs 682 vertical metres to an altitude of 2138m at its end. The summit of the pass lies at an altitude of ±2150m.

Many thanks to everyone who chooses to leave a comment or add this image to their favorites, it is much appreciated.

While my computer is out being fixed I have been exploring Colorado. This is from early one morning on Kebler Pass in the San Juan Mountains.

We were lucky enough to be driving by near sunset. This is a very touristy waterfall as it's literally on the side of the road on a very scenic route that connects Dingle to Tralee.

This is the exit point of the Wire Pass trail (which passes through a narrow slot canyon) at the conjunction where it enters Buckskin Gulch in Utah's Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument. I love walking in slot canyons. Note the hiker near the far wall for scale.

Long gone are the days when you would have these little guys land in the backyard of your suburban house in their millions.

They are now scares and a special catch to get one.

A narrow passage to a wider world.

A striking, high-contrast perspective of a mountain pass along the trails of Mount Sinai (also known as Jabal Musa or Mount Moses) in South Sinai.

The vertical lines of the rock walls create a strong "frame within a frame," drawing the viewer's eye down the path toward the distant, brightly lit peak in the center.

The use of leading lines through the rock faces creates a powerful "V" shape that draws the viewer’s eye deep into the center of the frame.

There is a beautiful play between the warm, earthy oranges on the left and the cool, shadowed purples on the right. This creates a natural color harmony that adds depth.

The image uses strong leading lines from the canyon walls to guide the viewer's eye toward the bright opening in the distance, providing a sense of depth and a clear focal point. The low camera angle makes the rock formations appear imposing and grand. The composition is largely symmetrical, which creates a balanced and stable feel.

The harsh, direct sunlight creates a high-contrast scene, with deep shadows on the right wall and bright, warm illumination on the left. This contrast emphasizes the rugged texture of the rocks. The warm tones of the rock contrast nicely with the cool blue of the sky, enhancing the visual appeal.

Every path has its own story; this one is written in stone. This specific location is often encountered by hikers descending from the summit of Mount Sinai after viewing the sunrise.

The photograph evokes a sense of adventure and awe emphasizing the natural geology of the canyon and the interplay of light and shadow within the narrow passage.
