The PARTNERS Spring Luncheon benefiting the Jane and Robert Cizik School of Nursing at UTHealth Houston was held Tuesday, April 25, at the River Oaks Country Club. This year's luncheon was co-chaired by Susie Distefano, MSN, RN, and Trish Greaser and raised over $214,000 in support of scholarships, research, and Cizik School of Nursing programs. U.S. Soldiers and Airmen with the 43rd Civil Support Team (CST), South Carolina Army National Guard, participate in a multi-agency training exercise at the William Brice Stadium, Columbia, South Carolina, Sept. 29, 2023. The training was part of a Joint Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and High-yield Explosives Characterization, Exploitation, and Mitigation Course (JCCEM) involving federal and state partner agencies. The purpose of the course was to enhance inter-agency communication, understand the capabilities of all participating agencies, and exercise joint-operational tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) during response operations to natural and manmade emergencies of national significance. The four-day course included both briefings on JCCEM threats and practical applications of joint-response TTPs. During the culminating event, elements of the 43rd CST participated in scenario-based drills such as simulated bomb detection, X-ray scanning of hidden explosives, and removal of explosives from hostages.
