I really liked the relatively simple series of repeating lines down the edge of the ASU parking structures. I took this from the 3rd floor stairs to the parking structure

Boulders standing all alone at what was long ago the leading edge of the mile-high glacier resting on Michigan are called erratics because they are scattered here and there, seemingly for no reason. Of the various phases of ice-age at this location, though, probably no glacier reached it, judging by the many hills that have not been flattened like other areas of the state. And in recenter centuries, this prime location at today's city center has been built and rebuilt a few times. So the placement of this huge stone in the middle of the paving bricks serves as a barricade to cars and trucks, allowing people on foot or bicycle to move freely between parking ramp and the business to the left, including a multi-screen movie theater.
Many architects would turn to something purely function, like removeable steel posts or semi-permanent cement obstacles. But the choice of an unpolished mass of natural stone seems to be a nod to Michigan's glacial heritage. Still, surrounding by brickwork, steel and glass, and the paving stones, this boulder in its wild condition seems a bit out of its element.

Morris Rickle was stranded in this elevator for 16 hours. Morris always carried a backpack with a few supplies just in case something like this happened. A little food, water, a light blanket and matches.
As near as the authorities can figure, somewhere around hour 14, Morris tried to roast some hot dogs and was overcome by smoke and then, evidently, became part of the roast. When the doors were finally opened, all the responders found was a piece of charred blanket and two hot dogs.
