Often claimed to be the first municipal parking structure in the world but I'm still looking for a primary source to suport that claim. The city website will tell you it's the oldest parking structure in Ann Arbor, big deal.

your average depressed urban area is dappled with tags, gang symbols,
and absurd slang, little of which is actually legible. the only
graffiti i saw in mobile was on the civic parking structure. it had
been painted over, but the custodian used shiny paint and followed the
words exactly, so you could still read it. on the second story
of the parking structure, facing the street, in large, clear block letters,
someone had spray-painted "fuck the world".
