A glimpse at our two projects that received awards at the 2013 AIA Central Valley Design Awards. Lincoln Plaza, CalPERS Headquarters received the Regional Recognition Award for being an icon of innovation in Sacramento for 27 years; and UC Davis Health System, Sacramento Medical Center, Parking Structure III received the award for Divine Detail for the innovative louver screen facade.

I was quite surprised to find this relatively beautiful parking facility in the middle of the Raleigh-Durham (RDU) airport.

Now that is a parking structure. It even has shutters. I like how it meets the Secretary of Interior Standards and you can still tell that it is a parking structure.

Mark realized he had so many cheesoid TIME cameras on hand that he could issue one to everybody in the Crappy Camera Club; so that became last month's shooting assignment.

I was excited to grab a mint LIFE variant--complete with neckstrap, vinylette case, and original brochures. Coincidentally, I even owned the correct cheapie flash unit that had been sold to match. Unfortunately after loading up color film, I discovered my camera's hot shoe would not trigger that (or any other) flash...

They certainly are terrible cameras. I didn't have any great artistic breakthroughs with this one, but here's a photo from the roll that came out OK.
