The giant tortoise is one of the most iconic animals in the Galapagos. El Chato reserve on the Santa Cruz island is home to hundreds of these gentle giants - the perfect place to see them in their natural habitat. It is also an interesting place birds: Darwin tree and ground finches fly between the trees, while yellow warblers add a touch of color to the scene.

I'm still alive! :-) My PC experienced a sudden and catastrophic cease fire, wouldn't even start up. I tried keeping up on Tonia's computer but between her and the cat I couldn't get to it.
anyway, hope all are well, I'll do my best to catch up, seeing as how the camera is in the shop that should be doable.

winter lingers here in wisconsin. we just received another layer of snow. it's interesting how snow feels magical in december yet tired in march. still, i have endless curiosity about dried, old leaves in puddles. i found this particular scene in the parking lot of a grocery store.

As I was leaving Malibu Lagoon Parking Lot I noticed this guy (Red-tailed Hawk I assume) It was perched on a nice branch adjacent to the Pacific Coast Highway and seemed to be having lots of fun watching the cars fly by !
