Parents

Do not place your needs first, your joy first. Consider the needs of others, the ananda of others, as even more important. Respect elders and cultivate cordiality between brothers and sisters, teachers and students, employers and employees, etc. Observe the rules laid down in the Shastras, respect the culture of your land and bring honour to the land of your birth. Belief in providence is native to an Indian and fear of sin is inherent in him. Nourish your aged parents; revere them. If you honour your mother, the mother of the Universe will guard you against harm. If you honour your father, the Father of all beings will guard you. This is as true as the fact that if you honour your parents, your children will honour you. (SSS Vol.4)

The November 8 Parent Partnership Summit was designed to serve as a kickoff to improve collaboration and

support of our schools across the Northeast community.

It's a good idea to have parents on hand so over-excited kids can rush back for a bit of re-assurance before embarking on fresh bursts of hyper-activity.

It should be understood that we were not invited to Michel's birthday party, and we did not gatecrash it. It was, however, happening alongside us in the only place in Saint-Laurent-des-Arbres that was open to serve food the evening we made an overnight stop in the village.

(Of course, I have four parents, but some of them couldn't make it for entirely forgivable reasons)
