This collage was made entirely from magazine strips with a technique I call "painting with paper." I cut the paper into different shapes and layer them in such a way that they look almost like the brushstrokes in a painting.

Ski masks to me are a symbol of the current struggles around the globe. The news is dominated by men wearing ski masks whether it be terrorists or the special forces battling them.

These cards were quite horrible to scan (especially the ladies from the vintage advertisments). They look much better in real life.

* Materials used: black cardstock, marker, bookpage from 1920, clippings from a 1922 encyclopedia (Larousse) and original photo (found at a flea market).
* Gebruikte materialen: zwarte cardstock, fineliner, boekpagina uit 1920, knipsels uit een encyclopedie (Larousse) uit 1922 en een originele foto (gevonden op een rommelmarkt).
