Home is where people can grow
and where people can give and receive love
and everything else that is needed to reach maturity.
Inevitably, home is connected to family, family in the extended sense of the word.

The small moments impact us
they're important
because unless you are queuing up for the bathroom every morning, you don't learn how to relate to those around you.
This is a paraphrased quote from a couple who for years have opened up their own family home to others who have needed one.

this is the first collage I ever made. in 2009. I was 16. I used elmer's thick goopy white glue and images from national geographic magazines. This is probably the only collage I've made that has visible tear marks. I remember making this collage on the floor in my living room with my older sister and possible younger brother. It was a weird time. I had just spent 2 or 3 weeks in a state hospital in Ventura and I was in a fragile state. I remember my family was all sensitive and gentle towards me during that time. WEIRD!
