Finally took a day off to visit one of our favorite garden centers where they go all out for autumn decor! What's not to LOVE about October!
Hope everyone had a wonderful Window Wednesday!

in the outskirts of the city, the houses are painted in vibrant blues and pinks. I wonder where they sell this paint.
I snapped this window shot from an old house at Hale Farm and Village. It spoke to me in so many ways. I love how the one pain is cracked open and the gorgeous reflection of the leaves changing on the trees. I can also see a face in the reflecion on the right window pain.

Taken in Glasgow, Scotland, this is part of a long running (and very slowly building) series taking a look at the city through the reflections within. This is a new building under the final stages of construction on the corner of Ingram Street and Queen Street and it has some wonderful curves all covered in glass. I loved that you could see beyond the reflection to the interior in some of the shot yet the panes of glass completely broke up the reflected clouds. You can even see someone working inside!

Whether you take this as a quotation from the Bible, or from the title of a 1961 Ingmar Bergman film, I just liked the way these figures were masked behind the shattered glass pane.
No need for a collage of images to demonstrate larval and adult stages of this Paper Wasp (Polistes stigma, Vespidae)...

We have been on a 21 day holiday. We flew from Calgary to Ottawa and from there drove across Eastern Canada to eventually deliver my daughter to University at Dalhousie in Halifax.
This image is of the Parliament buildings in Ottawa, taken at night. A 40 minute video is displayed using the building as the screen. The video is of the history of Canada and if you get a chance to see it, do not miss it. It was a highlight of our trip.
The building exterior is a stone yellowish grey color but during the video, it takes on all sorts of images. From faces to facades, it is an amazing light show.
