This is a typical dream of mine in Canadian winters. Let the sunshine in your heart in case you don't have it in your dream.

Don’t invest too much in this plant’s name. The ponytail palm (Beaucarnea recurvata) is neither a real palm nor does it have ponytails. Its swollen base looks like a palm and the long, thin leaves curve outward, then hang down like ponytails. But does the ponytail palm flower? If you are hoping for flowers and fruit from this plant, there is good news and bad news. While you can get flowering on a ponytail palm, you may have to wait up to 30 years to see it.

A lone sentinel, standing proud against nature's tumult. Its slender silhouette swaying gracefully in the wind; a tranquil reminder of life's endless beauty. #palmtrees #serenityonthebeach #catchthebreeze

King Roger's Hall - the formal chamber where Norman king Roger II would meet visiting dignitaries in the Palazzo dei Normanni, dating back to the 12th century.
The Ruggero Room contains exquisite mosaic decoration above a high marble plinth, dating from the regency of Guglielmo (William) I! (circa 1170). It covers the walls, lunettes, the undersides of the arches and the vault. Leopards, lions, harts, peacocks, centaurs and bowmen confront one another symmetrically amongst fruit trees and palms in the large lunettes. Spiral branches with leaves and flowers entwine the decorative elements of the vault, interrupted only by geometric bands (at the crossing points) and the medallions with lions and griffins. The Swabian eagle, within an octagon at the centre of the vault, dominates the composition, while the double-headed eagle appears on the keystones of the minor arches. The entire decorative structure is laid out on a single tessera background with gold leaf.
Thought to be the work of mosaicists trained in Byzantium, the iconographic themes of the mosaic cycle show clear eastern influence, more Persian and Seljuq than Arabic, as a result of the osmosis between the Islamic and Byzantine worlds.

Looking towards Stiltsville and Key Biscayne from Matheson Hammock Park in Miami. Stiltsville shacks were built in the bay almost a century ago, and the remaining seven structures are being preserved, and one is visible here on the horizon.

Situated on the French Riviera, along the French-Italian border, and it is nicknamed la perle de la France ("The Pearl of France"). Beautiful sea water, palm trees, and view.
The wedding weekend thankfully featured cooler days than what you might otherwise expect from the desert. Still evenings brought out just the right temperatures for this Goldilocks.
Of all the things to love about this place, I think it was these leaning coconut palms that I enjoyed the most. The water around the island was so shallow you could walk out about half a mile and not get any more than waist deep.
