This anti-tank gun was developed in 1938 by Rheinmetall-Borsig AG as a successor to the 3.7cm PaK 36. A total of 9.566 units were according to Wikipedia produced from 1940 to 1943. The 5cm PaK 38 remained in use by Wehrmacht until the end of World War II. This gun was also delivered to Italy, Finland, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria and the First Slovak republik. Note the rather unique curved gun-shield design.
