The Monument to the Kitten from Lizyukov Street is a monument to the hero of the cartoon "The Kitten from Lizyukov Street" in the Northern Residential District of Voronezh on Lizyukov Street. It was installed on December 5, 2003 in front of the entrance of the former Mir cinema.
After the appearance of the cartoon "Kitten from Lizyukov Street", directed by Vyacheslav Kotyonochkin according to the script of the writer Vitaly Zlotnikov, its main character became popular in many cities, and especially in Voronezh. Therefore, Valery Maltsev, who was the editor-in-chief of the Molodoy Kommunar newspaper at that time, proposed to erect a monument to the Voronezh kitten in the city. The idea was supported by the staff of the newspaper "Komsomolskaya Pravda" and the head of the administration of the Komintern district I. D. Obraztsov, who announced the competition. The winner was an 11th-grade student Irina Povarova, who sent about ten different drawings to the competition, the source of inspiration for which was the cartoon directed by Vyacheslav Kotyonochkin and screenwriter Vitaly Zlotnikov, a native of Voronezh. Later, Irina Povarova made design her profession.
The idea of the eleventh grader was greatly reworked by famous sculptors Ivan Dikunov and Elsa Pak together with their sons Maxim and Alexei. The monument was erected in front of the entrance to the Mir cinema on December 5, 2003. The kitten on Lizyukov Street instantly became one of the points of attraction for the townspeople. As is often the case with such sculptures (for example, with the monument to another artistic character - White Bim - installed near the Puppet Theater), it has become a good Voronezh omen to touch it.
The monument is subject to vandalism: the kitten's whiskers, made of wire, are periodically broken off, and they have to be restored.
According to the Voronezh local historian V. I. Kononov, the kitten Vasya is most likely the third cartoon character in the world and the first cartoon character in Russia, to whom a monument was erected.

Pak Beng (ປາກແບ່ງ in Laotian) is a small village in Oudomxay Province Laos, on the Mekong River about halfway between the Thai border at Huay Xai and Luang Prabang. Pak Beng is connected by a sealed road with Oudomxay along the Nam Beng River.

The PAK 43/41 was the mainstay of the German anti-tank artillery during the Second World War. The big 88mm round fired from the piece easily penetrated the armor of the Sherman, the Allies main battle tank. The PAK 43/41 was superior to its 75mm predecessor, the PAK 40, in both firepower and construction. The towed PAK 43/41 was situated on a structural steel carriage, featured a shield of plated armor for the crew, and was reloaded by a new sliding breach block that was easier to load. By the D-Day invasion in June of 1944, 88mm cannons, including the PAK 43/41 and the self-propelled equivalent, were stationed to pour high explosive and anti-tank shells onto the invading Allies. Many of the PAK 43/41 cannons the Allied troops destroyed were protected by concrete casemates overlooking the beaches of Normandy.
