pagi itu di Ranu Kumbolo, teman-teman di bawah sana sedang menikmati keindahan danau di gunung Semeru. awalnya, saya memutuskan berjalan sendiri untuk mengabadikan panorama alam gunung Semeru di pagi hari.
tiba-tiba kabut tebal turun menyelimuti lembah dan lereng gunung, sinar matahari pun menembus tipis melalui sela-sela pohon dan kabut. lalu, saya melihat seorang bapak ini sedang mendaki sambil membawa buah-buahan. namanya Pak Sumitro, saya menyapa dan mengobrol sejenak sebelum beliau melanjutkan perjalanan. Pak Sumitro mendaki menuju Cemoro Kandang, di sana beliau akan berjualan buah-buahan bagi para pendaki. suatu usaha yang melelahkan untuk mencari nafkah.
sepenggal kisah dari sebuah perjalanan, berinteraksi dengan masyarakat setempat adalah makna dari perjalanan, bukan hanya sekadar jalan-jalan.

The pilot has hopped out to wave hello to his adoring fans. Unlike a "real" Melusine, his cockpit is anything but cramped. Plenty of room for some sexy company, if the occasion presents itself.

The Pak Ou Caves can be found overlooking the Mekong river roughly two hours upstream from Luang Prabang.
The caves are treated as a shrine and contain hundreds of Buddha statues, most of which are fairly small and many have suffered damage due to the exposed nature of the site.
The setting is spectacular and whilst the caves themselves aren't particularly large their setting and collections of Buddha images make them an unforgettable sight (the lower cave has by far the largest concentration of sculptures).
