I should have been packing last Thursday night but it didn't happen because I was so incredibly tired. That seems to be a recurring theme lately- I think I'm overextended. At some point, something's got to give.
Ironically, the thing I overpacked the most on this trip was shoes. I did all right with the amount of clothing, but the shoes really pushed the weight limit Southwest sets for baggage. I have to start learning how to leave some of my baggage behind and travel lighter. Ha, well isn't that a swell euphemism... kind of tripped and fell right into that one.
Packing for another attempt. Pan has agreed to join me for another try of the AT in Vermont. It will be his real first hike in the winter snows. Had been staying with my Gram and Dad, we sure mad a mess packing.
I know, I know, too soon for another Kimba photo - but really he is so cute. I'm sure he knows what it means when the suitcases come out and is determined that one day he will come with us! I'm going to miss my little furbuddy living in Canberra.

This is how it arrived.
Envelope was made from an old calendar (2008) and is very pretty but ripped up pretty badly. The only place the glue didn't come apart on the envelope is where she used packing tape as well. I didn't even have to open it to get the card that was inside, sadly it was supposed to have a granny square as well. I just hope the granny square makes it home as it should have the owners address on it.
Convoy of Hope meal-packing event for the ministry Feed the Starving Children. Volunteers at this session packed nearly 30,000 meals in 2 hours. With the earlier groups, more than 100,000 meals were packed this day for distribution to starving children. Jan. 9, 2010. P1090073
Many of these meals actually reached the victims of the 7.0 earthquake that devastated Haiti 3 days later.
On August 18th, 2007, Isaiah and I went on a 2700 mile trip over 9 days. First S. Dakota and the Badlands. Then the Tetons in Wyoming. Also Yellowstone. Then over the 10,770' Beartooth Pass in Montana (he was impressed by a blizzard w/ lots of snow!) Here he's packing up sleeping bag one morning in Yellowstone.
Everything good must come to an end. Here we are packing up the vehicles and dragging our tired selves back to civilization.
Samplers, one packed, and 2 cards showing front and back, along with some of the pagan symbols I chose for my book thongs.
Getting ready for a few days away! I might not be able to post until Monday, or I might get a chance to put something up tomorrow... But the ones from the weekend should be Fab!
we've got pretty much everything loaded and ready so we can get up and head off to Fernie early in the morning.

We spent the evening getting the house ready for the painter. Much furniture needed to be moved. Things on shelves and in cabinets needed to be boxed. More things rearranged to accomodate our living with the work being done.
