The Brief
To develop an identity for a luxury perfume brand which appeals to both Arabic and Western cultures.
The Response
We captured both influences of the brand by balancing Arabic elements with a classic high-end look and feel. The packaging materials help to deliver the message using a varnished Arabic pattern and foil blocked logo application. The Pour Homme and Eau De Parfum fragrance bottles help shape the brand by promoting continuity using a similar shapes and styles. The women’s bottle is given a more feminine feel with it’s softer edges, colouring and gold cap. The result is a product with a subtle Arabic feel that appeals to consumers in both markets.
c1910 postcard view looking across a small lake at Lincoln City, Indiana. President Lincoln grew up near here. The 1960 US Geological Survey map for Santa Claus, Indiana includes Lincoln City and the Chrisney map shows the unnamed lake west of the community. The large letters of the sign painted on the front of the EUROPEAN HOTEL are mostly visible through the trees. That hotel stood on the east side of the Cannelton Branch of the L. E. & St. L. (Louisville, Evansville & St. Louis) Railway. The L. E. & St. L. was commonly known as the Southern Railroad. It followed Railway Avenue through the heart of Lincoln City from southwest to northeast. The Cannelton Branch joined the main line near the hotel. This view was looking east-southeast.
Arcadia Press published a book by Mike Capps and Jane Ammeson in 2008 titled Indiana’s Lincolnland (Images of America). It includes a chapter on Lincoln City.

My awesome BFF has a goat farm and has started making this handmade soap. BY HAND. Like, she raises the goats, milks the goats, and gathers ingredients and stuff in the woods and then makes the soap and sells it! Its insanely neat.
I designed a simple little label for her, with a bunch of variations for different scents.
I would link it so you could buy it, but she is sold out until the end of time already! :-D
In term 5, the Packaging class was challenged to brand and attract consumers to buy their products off the shelf.

After creating the logo jewelry, I created a honeycomb-shaped package to reflect the "Be(e) Yourself" brand I developed. Inside view 3.
This is a chocolate package design I did for the package design class in Winter 2008.
The boxes are all handmade from scratch. The concept was to make a gift package that people can keep after finishing all the chocolate inside. The targeted audience was female (late 20s-40s). I chose pastel colors for the boxes because it attracts females eyes, and represent melting and sweet feeling of the taste of chocolates.

It is hard to believe that almost 4 months of my life was consumed with this project. I was actually a little sad when the driver pulled away with my felt. I hope that everything goes well and they find people who love them as much as I did making them.
Evelyn and I spend a good few hours sketching the packaging at McDonalds and KFC (we were more focused on sketching then eating, hence it going a bit cold).

Have you ever wondered about the color bars on the bottoms of our printed proofs? For this particular printer, these are the tools we use to ascertain accurate color after the package design is printed. So far we have been right on!

This project was based on one of the YCN briefs where they asked from designers to create a totally new packaging concept for Doritos. Unfortunately, when I saw the brief the deadline was very close, but nevertheless I developed it.
The shape and the texture of the Doritos chips are used as the base of this packaging concept.
