Vintage tuxedo tie and its packaging. From the Horn Company, the Cyrano evening dress cravat with two tabs. 65 cents at Benoist Bros. in Natchez, Mississippi, around 1910.
I use padded mailers that are created from recycled materials, and I try to minimize my other packaging as much as I can. Each order comes securely in a zip lock type bag with a sample print, hand written note, and hand stamped business card.
1909 postmarked postcard view of a New York Central Railroad train at the passenger station in Wabash, Indiana. This train was headed south. The “Big Four Cut” through the rock was outside this view behind the train.
The locomotive number was 7095. The names NEW YORK CENTRAL LINES and C. C. C. C. & ST. L. (the Cleveland, Cincinnati, Chicago & St. Louis Railroad) were printed on the side of the coal tender. The first car was also identified with NEW YORK CENTRAL LINES above the windows. It was also identified as UNITED STATES MAIL RAILWAY POST OFFICE car number 117. Mail clerks processed mail in these cars while en route to their destination. A mail clerk was watching the photographer from that car.
The message was written by J. Kaiser, a railroad employee who had just been assigned to this route. The message read in part, "I have ben [sic] put back to fireing [sic] this will be my run. Watch me sweat." This sounds like he was to be the fireman for the steam locomotive.

Back in the 1950's, when the health hazards of smoking were still unknown, and more than half the adult population smoked, "Trim" Reducing-Aid Cigarettes were marketed as a weight loss aid. I assume that the tobacco contained an appetite suppressant.
This afternoon I received a wonderful package from the good folks over at JanSport!
The package contained their collaborative Westridge Backpack and Snoqualmie Duffel with HUF that we posted a few days ago on Solediction.
As you can see, QUALITY is what both brands had in mind when planning out each piece. Incorporating a black exterior with a faded assortment of leather detailing, this collection is a must have for just about anyone. And for all you skateboarders, each bag includes straps in which allow you to carry your board - as well as integrated laptop sleeves within the main compartments for you students and businessmen.
Both are set to release August 13th (2009) at HUF flagship stores and select retailers in a limited run of 150 per piece. And these aren't even all of them, I have two more.

So now I have to send them out tomorrow, I made every address blurry in Photoshop since nobody wants their address online of course. (The address behind Kat's leg is mine btw)

Because many people ask me about packaging tips, I have decided to make a video showing how I do it.
I use a strong plastic box to keep the doll safe during it's travel and it makes the size of the paperboard box much smaller.
Important thing is that you must not hear any noise when shaking the box. It means everything is in the correct place and not moving inside it.
Most of my packaging supplies I keep from things I buy and also friends and family do it for me =)
