Pyramiden Hundswurz - Anacamptis pyramidalis

Waking in the country lanes near our holiday Gite in La Jarne, the verges and waste land was full of beautiful wild flowers

Pharaoh Khufu began the first Giza pyramid project, circa 2550 B.C. His Great Pyramid is the largest in Giza and towers some 481 feet (147 meters) above the plateau. Its estimated 2.3 million stone blocks each weigh an average of 2.5 to 15 tons. I photographed the pyramids from different angles and perspectives, but this long shot is one of my favorites.

The view from Patricia Lake Bungalows, the lake is much narrower here and just a few minutes walk from the cabin. Jasper National Park

There are some small pyramids in the image but I just don't recall why I gave it that name. I must have had a reason. If you see me you might ask me about it.

The Pyramid of Djoser (or Djeser and Zoser), or Step Pyramid, is an archaeological site in the Saqqara necropolis, Egypt, northwest of the city of Memphis. The 6-tier, 4-sided structure is the earliest colossal stone building in Egypt. It was built in the 27th century BC during the Third Dynasty for the burial of Pharaoh Djoser. The pyramid is the central feature of a vast mortuary complex in an enormous courtyard surrounded by ceremonial structures and decoration.*

The Egyptian pyramids are ancient masonry structures located in Egypt. Most were built as tombs for the country's pharaohs and their consorts during the Old and Middle Kingdom periods.

The most famous Egyptian pyramids are those found at Giza, on the outskirts of Cairo. Several of the Giza pyramids are counted among the largest structures ever built. The Pyramid of Khufu is the largest Egyptian pyramid. It is the only one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World still in existence.*
