Take this fake that if you want to make it
Now, it's time that I speak my mind
You can't take that away

Possibilities for the Looking Close on Friday theme for July 8, of push pins or thumb tacks. Which to choose? Let the dithering begin

The Macro Mondays theme for tomorrow, 9/12, is low key so I’m trying pictures with low light using my Iphone’s camera— a bit of a challenge to be sure! Presently am leaning toward the SOLO cup lid, pen2, or the button for the canon870…. I chose this one out of the dozen (and two colorful ones)!
Will also post some later *from* my beloved canon870, a point and shoot that I love using for macros but haven’t used for a while, during my 6 month experimenting with the iPhone that has now gone on for 20 months. (Please don’t hate me for that run-on sentence— grin)

An image from last spring in Prince Edward County - I have one week or work travel before I get a chance to head back there for a few days to check in on the migration.
Last year my visit coincided with a major push of Grosbeaks and Orioles, and they were everywhere along the shore, in flocks. I had not witnessed a landing by so many of a single species before, let alone a species that one is lucky to find, let alone photograph, in Ottawa.
My preference is always to find birds in habitat and to situate them as such in images, but every once in a while opportunities arise for a completely clean image.
Some from Kinross whilst waiting for a non-appearing Short-eared Owl - it eventually appeared once I had got home and tucking into a cup of hot tea - it was bitterly cold out there

This is the 1st try for the next Macro Mondays Challenge called PushPull. I thought i`m gonna split it and create two single images. One for "push" and another one for "pull" ! In little world the tiny people sometimes spend time playing game just like the well known jenga.

A complex shot of the Milky Way over Lake Bumbunga, Lochiel. 4 shot vertical panorma with a Sigma 40mm lens and Tiffen Black Pro Mist 1/2 filter blended with a single longer exposure for the foreground. I pushed this one a little more in Photoshop than I usually would so that it doesn't simply look like the other shots!!
through the forest floor detritus. I came down with Covid for the second time last Sunday. It was not even as bad as some colds I had in the past but I am vaccinated and boosted. So this week I binge watched Netflix Night Agent with millions of others. Exciting adventure as small guy beats big guys.
A sunny autumn day here, still.and 16C. Have a good WE and thanks for visiting my isolation.

First push and then pull. Removing a DVD from a DVD cover is a special challenge. A lot of coordination is required. Press in the middle with your index finger and then pull the DVD up on the edge with your thumb and ring finger. Fortunately, there are simpler methods today. I've looked through many DVD cover for the task, there are a large number of shapes and mounts. This DVD cover even says PUSH on it.
The DVD cover was illuminated from behind in color for the picture. An LED plant light was used as lighting from the front.

Sometimes your life's balance is upside down. Like the stick. You believe you will have the greatest challenges coming from below, and you try to feel prepared, enduring... Suddenly a small push from above and you fall… Setting the tweezers back in your life is always difficult and painful... but you have to do it... every time
