and in mortal eclipse the most beautiful
stars, snow and pure roses,
and heaven earth, in unequal custom.
Earth, necessarily grief,
and so, not Atlantean, to the frozen slabs
already waiting for their pitiful garments,
Sisyphus you are, for another uncertain summit.

When did you weigh more heavily, Fernando,
or being fire, or turned into snow?
But the fire does not weigh, than exhaling
matter at its center is light load;
snow is water, and will weigh crying.
Our trip we could, as already mentioned wg. Storm and heavy rains are delayed, but somehow there is a good side to everything - due to one of the heaviest rains Madeira had ever experienced, roads were partly blocked due to Landslides or falling rocks blocked - we couldn't do our original hike along the Levada Pinaculu like this either - but the alternative we did from Encumeada was a hit - with some waterfalls and these filled to the brim - rather unusual for mid-June...
Unsere Reise konnten wir, wie schon erwähnt wg. Sturm und starken Regenfällen nur verspätet antreten, aber alles hat auch irgendwie eine gute Seite - durch einen der stärksten Regenfälle, die Madeira je erlebt hatte, waren zum Teil Straßen wg. Erdrutschen oder Steinschlag gesperrt - auch unsere ursprüngliche Wanderung entlang der Levada Pinaculu konnten wir so nicht machen - die Alternative, die wir von Encumeada unternahmen war aber der Hit - mit einigen Wasserfällen und diese prall gefüllt - für Mitte Juni eher ungewöhnlich...

How it was done...
Single RAW image...Crucially...Centre weighted average metering... In a poor light situation, where the only good light was on the two Goldfinches.... taking a light reading FROM the Goldfinches themselves makes then stand out just nicely... :)
It's always useful to have two or three different metering set up's in Custom settings on the camera ...changing metering modes quickly is vital.... they were only static for twelve frames then gone...!

Taken for this weeks Crazy Tuesday theme: My favourite drink.
Call me boring, but water is my favourite beverage of all...followed by juice. I hardly ever drink alchohol but when I do it is sure to be something fruity and fun (something like a Strawberry Daiquiri or something slushy and refreshing).
