Kumiho's snout elongated, his eyes grew, and fur covered his body. He had fully transformed into a fox. Koneko had never actually witnessed her mom and dad change before, but it was far less scary than she had thought. He had smiled the entire time. He hadn't been in pain at all.

Maybe she could do it, after all. Kumiho barked happily before saying "Okay now, lovely. Your turn. Mommy will be so proud if you change form! And you can finally attend school!".

Ok a story behind this one. There was a open air dance class in the park and this Lady broke off from drinking with her friends to dance to the music. She had great fun and didn't even spill her drink ! The song of course was Proud Mary (hence the title).

Or is it just his mini-me?

A tribute to one of 20th century's most renowned protests: a mural facing the railway tracks in Newtown showing two black athletes (gold medalist Tommie Smith and bronze medalist Juan Carlos) giving a defiant raised-fist salute at the 1968 Olympics in Mexico City, and the Australian athlete Peter Norman wearing an Olympic Project for Human Rights badge stood proudly beside them.

A fight is now on to save the mural as the state government considers demolishing the house it is painted on, and its neighbours, to build a rail tunnel.

Norman was reprimanded and was not selected for the Australian team at the 1972 Olympics.

38 years later, Carlos and Smith were pallbearers at Norman's funeral in Melbourne. Carlos said Norman had shown no fear on the day: He said, 'I'll stand with you.'

Silvio Offria, who allowed an artist he knew only as Donald to paint the mural on his house, said Norman had come to Newtown to see the mural before he died in 2006. 'He came and had his photo taken, he was very happy', he said.......[Sydney Morning Herald]

Proud Stance - A caribuo standing proud in Denali National Park and Preserve.

She may have been "born" in Pennsylvania, and she might be visiting Colorado, but whenever she travels, her owner leaves no doubt as to where home is. Whenever Eureka & Palisade #4 performs in front of a crowd, Dan Markoff affixes the flags of the United States of America and the State of Nevada to her flagstands. On this particular day, she had been part of the Durango & Silverton's "Parade of Trains" during the annual Railfest event. When the party was over, Dan was kind enough to pose her just outside her stall at the Durango Roundhouse, so that folks participating in Pete Lerro's night shoot could get a few snaps if they so desired. So, while everyone else was blasting away at the roundhouse crew feverishly working on some Alco product, I snuck away and got my portrait of the real "Belle of the Ball".

The new goslings are here now, at Burnaby Lake! Here’s a nice, big family!

2019/08/18: Fiers (French) = Proud

A special series for my eldest who’s graduating from preschool this year. He has made us proud and we look forward to continuing the education journey with him and his siblings. Habits, movements, routines and many more have changed due to the pandemic. But the inner heart of curiosity, excitement, happiness, hope and love of a child remains untouched. We are praying hard for the day when the world heals from this pandemic and our future generation can lead and make the world better
