Nurses, AIDS activists, students, transit workers, Veterans, and other community activists call on Congressional offices in 22 cities from Virginia to California April 4 – and a Washington DC press conference – to step up the call for a tax on Wall Street speculation to fund programs to redress economic inequality and address other basic needs.
April 4 marks the 46th anniversary of the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. who was slain in the midst of a campaign for economic justice that, in his last year, included an anti-poverty campaign and worker justice.
Activists say a tax on Wall Street speculation, also known as the Robin Hood tax and embodied in HR 1579, the Inclusive Prosperity Act, is a vital step to fund the programs needed to continue the cause that Dr. King fought to achieve.

Some Background History if you care,
"The horse of the zodiac stands for great vitality and prosperity, the ox on the other hand stands for strength or diligence. So why do you insist on calling me the "Work Horse" of the twelve?" - Hiroshi
Born with the genetic anomaly of a 'stopped biological cell clock', Daegon's body doesn't know what age it's actually supposed to be. Together with the accelerated regeneration of his bodily tissue and the fact that cardiac muscle (which never tires) is fused into all of his ex-tensor musculature and there comes a better understanding of why he is called the 'work horse'.
"If I don't do the equivalent of two days of manual labour everyday, my body will get bored of itself and I could actually die of boredom." - Hiroshi
His mother insisted her son was born to work. From the day he could walk, he was running. From the day he could talk, he was learning to be a polyglot and from the day he could work - he was truly at home. Hiroshi did more work than all of his fellow field workers in the rice-patties combined. He never seemed to tire even in the harsh cold or blistering sun. If there was something to do, too difficult for the others in the field; Hiroshi did it.
Unfortunately, "the nail that sticks out is the first to be pounded down" or so they say. Jealous co-workers pushed on by their superiors who didn't want to see him rise above them sought to beat him into an inch of his life. Hiroshi's life was so long though that they tired before he did. The next day, he was back at it, doing his work and his former co-worker's work as well. He was found out by the local lord and put to a different kind of work.
Training of the immortal by four swordsmen together with masters of unarmed martial arts began. Even on a 'round the clock' basis the masters found their pupil to be insatiable. He learned from them, he mastered beyond them and he went to the battlefield where his lord insisted his place was. He fought, he 'died', he stood and he fought again. He outlived his teachers, he outlived his students, he outlived his 'lord' and became hounded by the descendants of all as a monstrosity among men.
It wasn't until a passing dragon of dead men picked up the insatiable demon that peace returned to the land. Now the work-horse has once again found a different 'school of work' to be performed. Journeying and learning more, he seems to always be just in passing a tale told and re-told in generations each of whom get to see a bit of an Ox's diligent strength.
In several different prefectures he has been called the Ushi-Oni and the Gyuuki, though none of these names have ever 'stuck' with him.
As you can see in this image captured on Grant Avenue during the March 7, 2015 Chinese Spring Festival in San Francisco's Chinatown, red was the predominant color. Here are signs by the San Francisco Chinese Chamber of Commerce wishing Business Prosperity on the left banner and National Peace and Prosperity on the right banner. The other banners were sponsored by Southwest Airlines with the slogan: Blessings. They're a two-way ticket.

With budget constraints, we need to radically re-think how we deliver government services. Technological power marches on, but we are not thinking enough about how technology could streamline government performance. The power of technology to allow government services to run faster and better is unparalleled and this is the right moment to focus on these issues.
Please join us for discussions on lessons learned from spending and budgets for the federal government and leveraging technology and business model innovation for efficiency across the commercial and governmental sectors.
If Del Valle could have campaigned for a year or so, he would have shaken every hand in Chicago and probably won the election. Unfortunately, that's not how elections work anymore. Plop, indeed.
Foundation stone 1867 by Bishop Goold, architect D J Howes, bluestone with freestone dressings, opened 13 Nov 1870, extensions (nave, tower & incomplete spire) foundation stone 5 Jul 1914 by Bishop Joseph Higgins, architect Augustus Andrew Fritsch, re-opened 2 May 1915.
“the township of Koroit is making very rapid progress, the fertility of the soil having stimulated settlement, and produced general prosperity. Buildings of a substantial character are being erected, and changes in the aspect of the place are continually noticeable. The Roman Catholic church, of which the foundation-stone was laid on New Year's Day, will be a large, handsome building, the estimated cost of its completion being £12,000. The town is also beautifully situated and surrounded-the scenery is romantic and picturesque; and with its lake, its botanic gardens, the remarkable old crater of Tower-hill, and the view thence obtained across the bay of Belfast to Moonlight Heads, and even to Cape Otway, when the weather is clear, forms a landscape which, for interest and loveliness, is unsurpassed.” [The Argus 30 Mar 1867]
“The most magnificent and costly ecclesiastical building in the Western District was solemnly opened for divine service on Sunday, the 13th inst. The weather was showery and told, but there was a very large gathering of people from many miles round, including many inhabitants of Belfast and Warrnambool. . . The church was dedicated to the ‘Holy Child Jesus’. . . It is built in the Gothic style of architecture, the walls and buttresses being of close-grained bluestone, and the arches and cornices of Hobart Town freestone. In the interior of the building are ten pillars of basalt, which support massive Gothic arches of Hobart Town freestone, over which are stained glass windows representing scenes from the lives of the Apostles. A large stained glass window, by Ferguson and Urie, of Melbourne, is a very prominent object, and we understand its cost has been defrayed by some members of the congregation in memory of the Rev. James Parle. The building reflects great credit on Mr. D. J. Howes, the architect, and indeed upon all who have been engaged in its erection, more especially upon the Roman Catholics of the Tower Hill district.” [Advocate 26 Nov 1870]
“Older members of the Roman Catholic community recollect the opening of the old church, and a few can go further back to when Mass was served in the wooden church at the Survey, which was also used as a school. About 1870 the building was removed to the present site, and church services were held in it while the erection of the new building was in progress. At this time Koroit was portion of the Belfast parish . . . The old front has been removed, the church considerably lengthened, the aisles extended, and two hays and large addition to the nave have been built. The latter now has a spacious porch and organ gallery. . . A massive and imposing tower with belfry has been erected to the right of the porch . . . Over the main entrance porch is a fine tracery window.” [Koroit Sentinel 8 May 1915]
