last night was the prospect.everyone block party on julia street, where nola rising hosted an art jail. this is what the art jail looked like, before it was heavily decorated with caution tape and the like. i was amazed that max and ReX and whoever else helped build the thing were able to build such a huge construction, in parts, in the middle of the firestone parking lot and then assemble it on julie once the street was closed. pretty fucking amazing.

Unusually large crowed showed up this morning for the first official event in NYC Parks since hurricane Sandy devastating blow to the city. Around 2000 runners, up to 5 times the usual amount, attended the 9AM 5K run around the Prospect Park in Park Slope, Brooklyn, organized by Prospect Park Alliance and the NYC Road Runners Club .

The unusual large crowd of runners is believe to be direct flow from the canceled NYC Marathon which was set to run trough five boroughs tomorrow.

The 9AM run was followed by 5K around the park walkathon which also had record number of walkers.
