There's an old saying "Red sky at night, shepherd's delight" - I'm not sure if a red sky at night does indeed promise better weather next day ... but this one came after a day of leaden grey skies and a cold wind blowing rain against the windows. It was too good to miss shooting the afterglow of the setting sun!

my husband took me exploring yesterday afternoon to clear my head. We were at a stop sign when I looked out my window and saw this lovely gate just waiting to be opened. I grabbed my camera and caught it just as we began to move again. I want to walk through that gate into the field behind, throw my arms out, and spin until I fall over.

Inspired by many, and because I'm in the mood for something different :) Made for the Dictionary of Image Group ........ Hope you like it....
I will confess from the outset my Malay knowledge is limited to numbers, days of the week, road signs and thank you, the rest I rely on my little dictionary, so hopefully the words I pick will be used correctly :)

There is no recipe to get to these. It takes a lot more tweaking and adding doses of gum and lotion to get them.

i fell in love with this title after seeing it used in this.check out his stream if you havent. its very real and simple.
made me think..if your ever in the position where you ask someone this, you are giving more of yourself then the other person might realize,at least for me i dont trust easy, and for me to ask for a promise is very intimate, very trusting,very believing.
My sister,i was stuck on the blue tint really like it :) though it took me a bit to get the highlights on her face the way i wanted it. from a few days ago.

The sea at sunset, as seen from the island of Maui. The wedding ceremony was over and the luau was in full force when the sky burst with color, and I soon found myself down by the shoreline with my Hasselblad 500 C/M.
We were standing in the middle of a deserted road in Idaho, surrounded by beautiful scenery and fields of horses and cows (where were all the potatoes?!) No one came on the road in 10 minutes, and it was so flat that you could see one coming long before it would pass us. It's strange how straight this road was considering that on every side were hills and mountains.
I sometimes wish this was a photo of just his hand, since it's so brightly purple against that time zero blue sky...but I like this normal one, too =)
