On a cold Winter's morning, these buds are really the light of day. I've always thought these magnolia blossoms are so short lived, but I realize now that the buds shine the whole Winter long...
As this was shot in early May, it is not really a summer shot, even if it may look alike. As I thought I could use some of the DoF-abilities of my little Fuji, the blossom was about 2-3 cm away.
Edited with Nik´s Analog Efex Pro for some vintage look.

We've had a brutal couple weeks of nasty winter weather and I've spent A LOT of time with my ice chopper and shovel in my driveway. I needed to see proof that Spring does and will arrive again. Trying to stay optimistic! 4 more months til I see this again...

Sometimes the promises of God can feel hidden or obscured the roaring voices of life and chaos, but if you look closely and truly tune your heart to look for them, there you will find them and there you can rest in them. I was reminded of this as I captured this image as the rainbow is crossing the waterfall, but simultaneously seems to be overwhelmed by the roaring water around it. The longer you look at the promise the easier it becomes to focus our eyes and attention on it and see how beautiful it is even in chaotic surroundings. O may my heart cling onto Your promises my Lord!
