Today's image features a bottle of Spiced Rum, showcased in all its tantalizing glory. It was illuminated from below using a Nikon SB-28 flash at 1/8 power with an optical trigger, complemented by a Godox AD200 Pro at full power, diffused through a homemade softbox. I set the color balance to Tungsten and added a CTO gel at the base to amplify the rich, red hues of the booze. After capturing the shot, I worked some Photoshop magic to perfect the final image. Cheers to creativity and a well-lit drink!
I was asked to photograph the remembrance concert from the Royal British Legion in the St. Nicholas Cathedral in Newcastle on Saturday the 7th of november.
The whole event was very impressive and I found it hard to distance myself from it and concentrate on photographing. When the time came that the last post was played I was completely in tears and had to retreat for a while to recompose myself. I know, not very 'professional' but what the hey...

For some this place is a vacation destination. I'm not sure I'm up to that level but I suppose I can see it as a reason to make a stop along the way on a vacation.
For me, however, I just needed to go pick up some gun oil. I know some outdoor and hunting enthusiasts would have a stroke if they found out that I live close to a major Bass Pro Shop let alone just popped-in to grab some FP-10 for $7. However, I'll admit, I got distracted by all there was to see.
3 acres of museum quality wildlife exhibits, a professional boat center, gun room, 2 story waterfall with giant aquarium full of huge fish, candy store with home made fudge, and even an Uncle Buck's Fishbowl & Grill connected. Yup, I can see the allure.
