Not actually prison, but the bars would suggest otherwise. I converted to b&w and added some tinting (I'm starting to love the tint effect).

SP 7614 has left Arizona and entered the state of California crossing the Colorado River on a bridge built in 1923. On the left is the Yuma Territorial Prison that I believe was a museum at this time. 8.87
France, Normandy, Mont-Saint-Michel, Spring 2022
Mont-Saint-Michel is a tidal island in Normandy, France. As of 2019, the island had a population of 29. The commune's position—on an island just a few hundred metres from land—made it accessible at low tide to the many pilgrims to its abbey, but defensible as an incoming tide stranded, drove off, or drowned would-be assailants. The island remained unconquered during the Hundred Years' War; a small garrison fended off a full attack by the English in 1433. Louis XI recognised the reverse benefits of its natural defence and turned it into a prison. The abbey was used regularly as a prison during the Ancien Régime. Mont-Saint-Michel and its surrounding bay were inscribed on the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites in 1979 for its unique aesthetic and importance as a medieval Christian site. It is visited by more than 3 million people each year. Mont-Saint-Michel served as an artistic inspiration for a number of works. In Peter Jackson's 2003 film The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, Gondor's capital city was modelled on Mont Saint-Michel. Likewise, the town and castle in the Disney hit Tangled were based on Mont-Saint-Michel, as was the design of Dark Souls location New Londo Ruins.
The Lorton prison, euphemistically know as "The Workhouse," has been shuttered and sold to a developer who is slowly turning this sad place into new housing, new offices, and places for children to play. Some get to play: some had to pay.
"Show me the prison
Show me the jail
Show me the prisoner
Whose life has gone stale
And I'll show you the young man
With some many reasons why
There but for fortune
Go you or I "

This could also be a picture of the state of my PC's operating system thanks to the latest Microsoft overnight software push. I'm using the term"operating" loosely since I'm running on a temporary account since the computer gods seem to have lost my actual account. : (( Won't be doing much until I can get this *little* problem fixed.
Thanks for the visits, comments, notes and faves!!

sur le blog Éléments du monde ordinaire, une histoire banale, une histoire que partagent la plupart des familles, ici et là, quoi qu’on en dise, une histoire qui mène trop souvent à la mort, qui envoie parfois en prison les assassins des mères.

Scanned from a negative.
The Kilmainham Gaol in Dublin is quite the structure - this is one of of the best views of it - I had to wait a long time to get no tourists taking smiling selfies in front of the prison doors. Looking at this, the cells look so claustrophobic. It was the location for many movies.

My Build to get into High Command in the Triumvirate, I'm going for a bit of a darker build with this one and would really appreciate any feedback!

The imposing feature known as The Prison at the Quiraing, Isle of Skye.
The last time I was here, the mist was very thick, so I wanted to return when visibility was better - 'unfortunately' this occasion was on a sunny day with only the smallest amount of high cloud so not the best for moody landscape photography. But on this day, we got on top of The Prison, about half-way in between the two 'horns' and did a complete circuit for the first time. This was done as a three-shot panorama on the way back and I managed to get the low sun in behind The Prison, much better in monochrome than colour. A figure on the top would have given good scale, but there was no one about.
