a magnificent mountain range along one of the amazing Westfjords of Iceland. The landscape switches permanently between such mountain ranges and splendid fjords while one travels along the vast Westfjords. What an experience!
Auf Baumstümpfen findet man sie zuhauf, die Stockschwämmchen. Zumeist bilden sie, wie auch hier, große Gruppen. Zudem sind sie auch sehr schmackhaft. Etwas kurios an dieser Gruppe ist, dass ein Fruchtkörper alle anderen überragt. Er ist der größte unter den gleichen, der "Primus inter pares".

They can be found in abundance on tree stumps, the stick sponges. Mostly, as here, they form large groups. They are also very tasty. What is somewhat curious about this group is that one fruiting body towers above all the others. It is the largest among the same, the "primus inter pares".

The weather has not been great this weekend for capturing much but I managed to get out for a few sunrises locally recently. The clouds were breaking over Haytor nicely when I was on Top Tor. As the sun broke through the cloud the light was absolutely stunning and it was nice to capture this composition looking toward Bonehill Rocks.

No internet at the Primus Kaffi in Hellnar, Iceland but plenty of good food and good conversation over lunch. We stopped here during our visit to the Snæfellsnes Peninsula and Snæfellsjökull National Park.
