"Can toa Gali reach the greatest depths she's ever faced to reach Akida and learn just how mighty the sea can be?"

---------------------

The second redesigned creature to follow Uxar, Lord of the Forest. I'm thinking I'll make this a series, where I reimagine each G2 creature into more respectable masters of elements. Rather than taming them, each toa must find a way to gain the respect of the mighty creatures so that they earn their right to learn deeper secrets of their elemental powers.

My minor self-implemented rules are that I'll reuse some elements from the original sets, but most importantly the head. Each time I'll try to come up with a different head design using the creature headpiece so that the creatures look individual, but remain recognizable.

I have ideas for Ikir and Ketar at the moment, but we'll see what I'll do with Terak and Melum.

There was mist, and hanging roots from banyan trees, palm fronds, tall grasses...it looked and felt very primitive and other worldly!

Primordial man knew by himself that God is; fallen man does not know it; he must learn it.

Primordial man was always aware of God; fallen man, while having learned that God is, must force himself to be aware of it always.

Primordial man loved God more than the world; fallen man loves the world more than God, he must therefore practice renunciation.

Primordial man saw God everywhere, he had the sense of archetypes and of essences and was not enclosed in the alternative "flesh or spirit"; fallen man sees God nowhere, he sees only the world as such, not as the manifestation of God.

The ferns are uncurling. In the Middle Ages they were planted to ward off evil spirits... they do have a certain magic to them and generally grow in the deepest, dampest regions of our garden :-).

Thank you for visiting, and have a great weekend everyone!

The left side of Talisker Bay on Skye isle during a stormy and windy August evening. It was not an unforgettable sunset but being there alone, with the noise of the wind and the sea as my only companions, it was an almost primordial experience!

Tranquility is the key in the lives of horses and cows grazing in the Bal de Aguas Tuertas, away from the men and the highways, lost in the mountain wilderness.

It was a day of wonders.

A wonderful weather, a climb along a wonderful valley, an altitude pasture that we can't forget, a wonderful mountain lake, a steep descent to Candanchú, and crossing one of our former ski destinations... walking on mountain trekking boots instead of sky boots!

A baby fern frond unfurling its tender young curls. When not all soft and babyish, this cycad fern is the prickly sort dating back times when it was dinosaur food.

Trawling through the archives and I re-discovered this image. I probably dismissed it at the time for being too monochromatic. On reflection 5 years later I now prefer the simplicity of the limited colour palette.. Sometimes less is more...it just takes time to realise it.

i can't believe he carried that thing around for over an hour, never once setting it down. he exhausted himself trying to keep it away from drake.

i eventually sawed it in half. they went to separate corners of the yard for hours. they are now both passed out with each bone piece inches from their head, with one eye open.

art in a frog pond...

Another from my day trip on Sunday last. This scene is not from Iceland but from Ireland. I had only ever seen two images of this sea arch on Flickr so I decided it was time to go and see it for myself. An amazing bit of dramatic coastline, well worth the miles, wrong turns and steep decent! I have to run, its all go on the farm at the minute, but I'll be back before bedtime :-)
