The Prime Tower, also named Maag Tower in an earlier stage of planning, is a skyscraper in Zurich, Switzerland. At a height of 126 metres, it was the highest skyscraper in Switzerland from 2011 until 2015, when the Roche Tower in Basel (standing at 178 metres) was finished. The tower and its two companion buildings, Cubus and Diagonal, are used primarily as office buildings.

A Stellar's Jay (Cyanocitta stelleri) on the birdbath in our yard. This is an adult in it's prime, and has a wonderful full crest. It loves it's peanuts and must have made off with at least a dozen out of the feeder!
Corn stocks are ready for harvesting in Shuswap, BC with fencing to keep me out and silos primed for holding.
Having been somewhat thwarted by the sudden downpour earlier in the day, I was finally able to get the bridge shot I wanted as IAIS 6988 returned to Annawan on it's final excursion trip of the day. I skipped a bunch of other opportunities to intercept the Iowa Bolt just to get a prime shot here on the bridge. If only she were moving forward instead of backwards, but sometimes you just have to take what you can get.
I recently found this nice spot below Hardbrücke to view the Prime Tower in Zürich. Back then it was raining miserably, so I had to come back and get a better picture.
Taken in very dark conditions with the RF800mm lens which isn't renowned for its low light performance.
This is a very light variant and looked to be in good condition. There was another SEO sat on the adjacent post and this one dive bombed it, chasing it away before calmly circling round and alighting on the next post. Wonderful to see - although I sadly missed a shot of the action.

I hear people complaining about winter already - although we still have another month to go before February, which is traditionally the prime time of winter blues. Looking for inspiration for this image taken on New Year's Day, I found a poem that sums up the mood pretty well - but made me smile none the less:
“The Blues
The Blahs
The Weary Dismals
Lost in Gloom
Woesome Me's
The Eternal 3 AM of the Soul.”
― Vivian Swift
An early M433 passes over Johnston Avenue on the National Docks with an SD40-2/SD40-2/GP40-2 trio.
What was once a gritty, industrial area during the Conrail days continues to evolve with the continuing efforts to gentrify Jersey City. Several warehouses in this area have been torn down to make way for luxury apartments. For just $2500 a month you can have a picturesque view of the National Docks Branch in Jersey City. Worth the money if you like wheel flanges squealing around your balcony at 10mph.
I watched three different Bald Eagles perch in this spot until they were driven off by another Eagle.
